Israel Admits 3 Missile Attacks from Yemen in Just 24 Hours, Triggers Mass Sirens and Flight Disruptions
Tel Aviv confirms three missile attacks from Yemen; Ben Gurion Airport suspends operations after latest hypersonic strike
Yemen, PUREWILAYAH.COM - For the third time in 24 hours, air raid sirens sounded across more than 100 Israeli settlements on Wednesday following the launch of a missile from Yemen.
The sirens were activated in regions including occupied Jerusalem and the Dead Sea area, in response to what Israeli authorities confirmed was a missile attack from Yemeni territory.
According to the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, the Israeli entity has been subjected to three missile strikes from Yemen in a single day, marking a notable escalation in cross-regional hostilities. The Israeli army stated that one of the missiles was intercepted, while others may have fallen outside of occupied airspace or been intercepted mid-flight.
Ben Gurion Airport Halts All Flights Amid Missile Threat
Following the latest missile launch, operations at Ben Gurion International Airport were immediately suspended. Both arrivals and departures were halted as a precaution, Israeli media reported. The temporary shutdown caused delays and panic at the airport, Israel’s main international aviation hub.
In an official statement, Israeli police urged settlers to avoid approaching suspicious objects, warning of potential missile debris. The alerts coincided with sirens activated in Jerusalem and the Dead Sea region, causing widespread alarm and triggering emergency procedures in multiple areas.
Yemen Confirms Hypersonic Missile Attack on Israeli Airport
In a televised statement late Tuesday night, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces, confirmed that Yemen had launched a hypersonic ballistic missile targeting Ben Gurion Airport in the city of Lod, central occupied Palestine.
Saree stated that the operation was conducted “in support of the Palestinian people and in rejection of the aggression against Gaza.” He confirmed that the missile successfully hit its target, forcing “millions of Israelis into shelters” and halting air traffic for over an hour.
The Yemeni Armed Forces said the missile strike was a direct response to ongoing Israeli massacres in Gaza and reiterated their commitment to maintaining the aerial blockade on Ben Gurion Airport.
Escalation Tied to Gaza War, Yemen Vows Continued Operations
Yemen’s military leadership emphasized that these missile strikes are part of a broader campaign aimed at pressuring the Israeli regime to halt its war on Gaza and lift the siege. The latest operation signals a sharp escalation in regional involvement, as Yemen continues to demonstrate its expanding long-range missile capabilities.
“Air navigation at Ben Gurion Airport will remain under threat as long as the massacres in Gaza continue,” said General Saree in his address.
The statement closed with a warning to Israel and its allies that Yemen’s missile operations will persist, and that commercial aviation and military assets remain legitimate targets under their declared aerial siege strategy. (PW)
