IRGC: We Will Respond to Any Threat at a Level That Ensures Deterrence
IRGC warns any escalation will be met with proportional retaliation, stating attacks on Iran’s power infrastructure will trigger direct and decisive response.
Iran, PUREWILAYAH.COM — The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared that it is fully determined to respond to any threat at a level that ensures effective deterrence.
In a statement released on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 (Farvardin 3, 1405), the IRGC’s Public Relations Office rejected claims made by the U.S. president, who alleged that Iran intended to target desalination facilities in the region.
IRGC Rejects U.S. Allegations, States U.S. Actions Constitute War Crimes
The statement described the U.S. military as a “hostile and anti-people force” that initiated the conflict through the killing of civilians, including schoolchildren.
It added that U.S. forces have already targeted multiple water infrastructure facilities, including a desalination plant on Qeshm Island, while stressing that the IRGC has not carried out such actions.
Warning: Attacks on Power Infrastructure Will Be Answered
The IRGC condemned threats by the U.S. president to strike Iran’s power plants, noting that such actions would disrupt critical humanitarian services, including hospitals, emergency centers, water networks, and desalination systems.
The statement warned that any attack on Iran’s electricity infrastructure would be met with direct retaliation.
Iran, it said, would target power plants belonging to the Zionist entity as well as those in regional countries supplying electricity to U.S. bases, alongside economic, industrial, and energy infrastructure linked to American interests.
“Do not doubt that we will carry this out,” the statement emphasized.
The IRGC stressed that despite attacks on Iranian hospitals, emergency centers, and schools, Iran had not responded in kind.
However, it issued a clear warning: “If you strike our electricity, we will strike yours.”
Deterrence Doctrine: Response at Equal or Higher Level
Reaffirming its doctrine, the IRGC stated: “We are determined to respond to any threat at a level that establishes deterrence, and we will do so.”
The statement concluded by warning that the United States underestimates Iran’s capabilities and will witness them on the battlefield.
