IRGC: Iran’s Armed Forces Exercise Full Authority Over the Strait of Hormuz
Iran warns that all commercial vessels and oil tankers must follow designated routes and obtain authorization, while any attempt to interfere with navigation could face military response.
Iran, PUREWILAYAH.COM - The Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters announced that Iran’s Armed Forces are exercising full authority over the Strait of Hormuz, warning that any violation of the regulations governing passage through the strategic waterway will place the safety and security of vessels at serious risk.
According to a statement carried by Mehr News Agency, all ships, commercial vessels, and oil tankers are required to navigate exclusively through designated routes and obtain authorization from the Navy of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
The statement emphasized that the Strait of Hormuz is being managed under an integrated command structure and warned that any vessel failing to comply with the established regulations could face severe consequences.
It further cautioned that any attempt by foreign military vessels to interfere with the management of the Strait of Hormuz or disrupt maritime traffic would be met by the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Iran Asserts Sovereignty Over Strategic Waterway
The announcement comes as senior Iranian officials increasingly highlight the strategic significance of the Strait of Hormuz in the aftermath of the recent conflict with the United States.
Speaking to IRGC personnel in North Khorasan Province, Brigadier General Yadollah Javani, Deputy Political Affairs Chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, described the exercise and consolidation of Iran’s sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz as a strategic asset more powerful than nuclear weapons.
According to Mehr News Agency, Javani stated that control over the vital maritime corridor gives Iran the ability to punish aggressors and protect its national interests.
“Exercising and consolidating Iran’s sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz is a weapon greater than nuclear arms, enabling Iran to punish aggressors,” he said.
Recent War Strengthened Iran
Referring to the recent war between Iran and the United States, Javani said the conflict was unavoidable and that Iran had anticipated such a confrontation for years.
“We were not surprised by this war,” he said. “We had always been preparing for such a confrontation, and the evidence of that preparation is the construction of a Strong Iran under the leadership of the Leaders of the Revolution.”
Javani argued that, much like the eight-year imposed war against Iran, the recent conflicts had produced strategic gains for the country.
“Iran not only emerged victorious in defending itself, but a global power has also risen from the heart of these wars,” he stated.
National Unity Defeated Enemy Plans
The IRGC official said national unity was one of the decisive factors behind Iran’s success and stressed that preserving this unity requires a shared understanding of the guidance and directives of the Guardianship of the Jurist (Wilayat al-Faqih).
He claimed that during the recent conflict, Iran’s adversaries pursued a three-pronged strategy consisting of intensive military aggression, the activation of domestic collaborators, and destabilization efforts in border regions.
According to Javani, these plans failed due to what he described as the awakening of the Iranian people and the steadfastness of the Armed Forces.
“The people accomplished a great achievement through their unified presence,” he said. “This presence must continue until this great victory is fully consolidated.”
Negotiations Conducted From a Position of Strength
Concluding his remarks, Javani said Iran’s ongoing negotiations with the United States are taking place from a position of strength rather than weakness.
He asserted that Tehran is entering talks on its own terms and with the ability to impose conditions on the opposing side.
“Today’s negotiations with the Americans are being conducted from a position of power, with Iran determining the conditions and imposing them on the other side,” he said. (PW)
