IRGC: Europe Hosts and Nurtures Terrorist Networks
Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Rejects EU Move as Politically Bankrupt and Aligned With US–Zionist Agenda
Iran | PUREWILAYAH.COM — The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has issued a strong and uncompromising statement condemning the European Union for its hostile and legally void decision to place the IRGC on a so-called “terrorist list,” describing the move as disgraceful, politically motivated, and entirely devoid of legal credibility.
The IRGC stated that the EU’s action openly aligns with the interventionist policies of the United States and deliberately ignores the destabilizing and criminal role of the Zionist regime in West Asia. According to the statement, such measures will not weaken Iran’s defensive institutions but will instead strengthen national unity and resolve.
Rejecting the European narrative, the IRGC emphasized its historic and ongoing role as a defensive shield for the Iranian nation—both in safeguarding Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and in combating internationally recognized terrorist organizations such as ISIS, separatist armed groups, and MEK, responsible for the martyrdom of more than 18,000 Iranians.
The statement also sharply criticized European governments for providing safe havens, political cover, and logistical support to terrorist groups, while remaining silent over the mass killing of civilians in Gaza, including tens of thousands of women and children.
Concluding its message, the IRGC reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to defending Iran’s security, dignity, and independence under the leadership of Ayatullah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, declaring that external pressure and political intimidation will never deter it from fulfilling its historic mission.
FULL STATEMENT
Statement of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Following the Hostile and Non-Constructive Action of the European Union
In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
Following the hostile, discredited, and contemptible action of the European Union in placing the name of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps on the list of terrorist organizations, we hereby bow in respect before the vast wave of support, solidarity, and wise stances expressed by all segments of the great Iranian nation, and we declare our profound gratitude.
This national unity represents a clear and magnificent manifestation of the Iranian people’s shared understanding of the social capital of the Islamic system and its decisive role at critical historical junctures—an asset that has consistently paved the way for overcoming challenges and thwarting the sworn enemies of this land.
In this context, while emphasizing the firm determination and steel-like will of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in fulfilling its grave responsibility of comprehensive defense of the Islamic homeland and safeguarding the security and tranquility of the beloved Iranian people, the following points are underscored:
1) The statement issued by the European Union is a discredited move, devoid of legal and political legitimacy, and fundamentally contrary to the principles and logic of international relations.
Such actions not only fail to undermine the will and missions of the IRGC, but instead strengthen internal cohesion and reinforce national determination to safeguard the country’s interests and security.
2) This approach by the European Union, in practice, constitutes an explicit alignment with the interventionist policies of the United States of America and a deliberate disregard for the destabilizing role of certain crisis-creating regional actors—most notably the brutal and terrorist Zionist regime.
It is evident that such actions not only fail to contribute to regional peace and security, but by reinforcing confrontational approaches, further complicate the path toward constructive engagement and cooperation.
3) Over past decades, the Islamic Revolutionary Guards have consistently served as the defensive shield and steadfast pillar of the Iranian nation, never hesitating in defending the country’s independence, security, and territorial integrity, nor in the fields of deprivation alleviation and public service to the people.
A serious question therefore arises:
By what logic do the governments of the European Union member states label the IRGC’s defense of the Iranian people’s security, its confrontation with separatist terrorist groups and the munafiqin—who martyred 18,000 innocent Iranians—as well as its fight against ISIS, as acts of terrorism? How can the IRGC’s legitimate defense of the Islamic homeland during the eight-year imposed war and the 12-day war, alongside other comrades in the armed forces, be described as terrorism? And by what logic are the IRGC’s extensive efforts in national reconstruction, deprivation alleviation, disaster relief during floods, earthquakes, and widespread diseases, as well as its contributions to scientific and technological development, and the construction of roads, highways, bridges, dams, power plants, schools, and thousands of other social initiatives, presented as terrorist actions?
4) Field realities demonstrate that certain European countries have become the primary breeding grounds and safe havens for various terrorist groups, including the satanic organization of the munafiqin, ISIS, and separatist movements, while continuing in various forms to withhold no effort in providing them with military, media, and logistical support.
Global public opinion had expected European countries, instead of such double standards, to clearly and decisively condemn the horrific crimes of the Zionist terrorist regime in the destruction of Gaza’s vital infrastructure—including hospitals, schools, water and electricity networks—and the martyrdom of more than 70,000 people and the injury of approximately 170,000 children, women, and oppressed civilians of Gaza.
5) The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps sincerely expresses its appreciation to the honorable Iranian people; the esteemed sources of emulation; the respected heads of the three branches of government; the Assembly of Experts; the Expediency Discernment Council; the Guardian Council; the esteemed government; members of the Islamic Consultative Assembly; respected Friday Prayer Leaders; the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council; the General Staff of the Armed Forces; the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran; the Law Enforcement Command; commanders and all members of the armed forces; the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting; the Ministry of Intelligence; the Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics; the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; institutions, groups, and political movements; as well as media managers and activists who, by firmly condemning the European Union’s political action and providing unifying and empowering support for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, once again demonstrated national solidarity.
This companionship, synergy, and national cohesion in the face of external pressure stand as clear testimony to the deep bond between the nation and the institutions that safeguard national security and sovereignty.
6) In conclusion, while extending congratulations on the auspicious birth anniversary of the unique Savior of humanity, Imam al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his reappearance), and the blessed Ten Days of Fajr marking the glorious victory of the Islamic Revolution, to the Iranian nation and all supporters of the Islamic Revolution worldwide, it is emphasized that:
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, as the soldiers of Wilayah and leadership, servants of the nation, comrades of the other armed forces, and guardians of a proud and dignified Iran, relying on Almighty God, under the care of Imam al-Asr (aj), and in the light of the leadership and command of the Supreme Leader and Commander-in-Chief, Imam Khamenei (may his shadow endure), will spare no effort in carrying out its critical missions in defense of the Islamic homeland and in safeguarding the security, tranquility, and dignity of the noble Iranian people.

Interesting framing of defensive institutions vs. terrorist designations. The point about European safe harbors for groups like MEK while sanctioning the IRGC highlights a real diplomatic inconsistency that tends to get glossed over in mainstream coverage. I've followed similar designation disputes in other regions, and the pattern is usually that legal frameworks get weaponised for geopolitical leverage rather than applied uniformly. The national unity response mentioned here also shows how external pressure can backfir strategically.
