Iran's Supreme Leader Vows Continued Resistance to US Demands
In a fiery speech, Ayatollah Khamenei addressed the nation, emphasising unity and defiance in the face of what he termed "illegitimate expectations" from the United States.
Tehran, PUREWILAYAH.COM - Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, delivered a powerful address to thousands of citizens, vowing that the Iranian nation would "stand firm" against what he described as the United States' persistent and illegitimate expectation of obedience. The speech, delivered during a mourning ceremony for the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Reza, touched on themes of national unity, the historical context of US-Iran relations, and the ongoing conflict with Israel.
Khamenei asserted that the United States' hostility towards Iran over the past 45 years is rooted in a desire to see the nation submit to American commands.
"The gentleman currently in power in America has revealed their true objective," Khamenei stated. "He said their confrontation with Iran is because they want Iran to obey America’s commands...The Iranian nation feels deeply offended by such a grave insult, and it will stand with all its might against anyone who has such a wrongful expectation of it."
The Supreme Leader also addressed the recent escalation of tensions with Israel, describing the Zionist regime as "the most hated in the world" and its actions as "unprecedented crimes." He called for a complete cut-off of aid to Israel, praising the actions of the people of Yemen as an example to be followed.
"We must stand against these disgusting crimes," he urged. "Standing with words and condemnations is useless; rather, we must act...and ensure that all lifelines of aid to the Zionist regime are cut off."
Khamenei lauded the strength and resilience of the Iranian armed forces, stating that their actions had "altered strategic equations" and delivered a "powerful blow" to the US and its allies. He emphasised the importance of national unity as a crucial defence against foreign attempts to create division within the country.
"Praise God, today, our country is united," he declared. "There are differences of opinion...but in defending the system, in defending the country, and in standing against the enemy, the people today are united."
The speech comes at a time of heightened regional tensions and serves as a strong message of defiance and resolve from the Iranian leadership to both its domestic and international audiences. (PW)
