Iran’s President: We Are in a Full-Scale War with the United States, Israel, and Europe
Pezeshkian Says Iran Faces Multi-Dimensional Siege Worse Than the War with Iraq
Iran, PUREWILAYAH.COM — In an interview with the official website of Iran’s Leader, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that the Islamic Republic is currently engaged in a full-scale war with the United States, Israel, and Europe, warning that the confrontation is more complex and more dangerous than the eight-year war imposed on Iran by Saddam Hussein’s Iraq.
Pezeshkian said the Western-led axis is applying simultaneous military, economic, political, security, cultural, and media pressure aimed at preventing Iran from standing on its own feet.
“In my view, we are in a full-scale war with America, Israel, and Europe. They do not want our country to stand,” he said.
“This war is worse than the war with Iraq. It is far more complex and far more difficult.”
A War Without Frontlines: Economic, Political, and Psychological Siege
The Iranian president explained that unlike the Iran–Iraq war—where frontlines and targets were clearly defined—the current confrontation is multi-layered, borderless, and continuous.
Iran, he said, is being encircled from every direction, with restrictions imposed on oil sales, trade, financial exchanges, and economic activity, while at the same time social expectations are deliberately inflated to generate internal pressure and dissatisfaction.
“They block our sales, our exchanges, our trade. At the same time, they raise expectations inside society,” Pezeshkian said.
“From livelihoods to culture, politics, and security, pressure is being applied everywhere.”
He stressed that this form of warfare is designed to wear societies down from within, rather than through conventional military confrontation.
Guidance of the Leader and the Centrality of Unity
Pezeshkian placed particular emphasis on the role of the guidance and direction set by Iran’s Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, stating that no external power can subdue a nation that remains united behind a clear leadership line.
He said the Leader’s current efforts to align and coordinate all branches of government are critical to strengthening internal cohesion in the face of external aggression.
“If harmony and solidarity are created, no power can defeat a united nation,” Pezeshkian said.
“When there is one voice from the system, aligned with the path set by the Leader, we become impossible to break.”
He warned that foreign adversaries are actively working to fuel internal divisions, stressing that disagreements must be handled internally and responsibly, without allowing them to spill into public fragmentation.
National Unity as the Primary Line of Defense
Drawing on Iran’s historical experience, Pezeshkian recalled that during the war with Iraq—despite extensive Western and regional support for Saddam Hussein—Iran did not lose its territory because of popular participation and national solidarity.
“The country belongs to the people. The region belongs to the people,” he said.
“When people believe this, they can solve their problems with their own hands.”
He argued that internal unity and public participation are more decisive than military hardware in confronting foreign aggression.
Resistance Economy and Shared Sacrifice
Addressing economic pressures, Pezeshkian acknowledged the heavy burden borne by the Iranian people due to reduced oil revenues and the prolonged nature of the confrontation.
He said the government is committed to redirecting resources toward public welfare, including food subsidies and livelihood support, rather than preserving privileges for elites.
Pezeshkian criticized systems that disproportionately benefit wealthier citizens while millions struggle to meet basic needs, stressing that justice and fairness are essential pillars of national resilience during wartime conditions.
A Clear Message to Washington and Tel Aviv
Pezeshkian’s remarks frame current Western and Israeli pressure not as isolated disputes, but as a coordinated campaign of aggression aimed at undermining Iran’s sovereignty, stability, and independence.
He reaffirmed that Iran’s response will not be submission, but resistance rooted in unity, public participation, and adherence to the strategic direction set by the country’s leadership.
“If we stand together, they can do whatever they want,” he said.
“We will overcome these challenges.” (PW)
