Iran’s Army Officials and Foreign Minister Meet, Pledge Readiness to Confront Threats
Iran | PUREWILAYAH.COM — Senior commanders of the Iranian Army and top diplomats met in Tehran on Tuesday to coordinate a unified response to foreign threats, linking the country’s military readiness directly to its diplomatic leverage in ongoing nuclear negotiations.
Diplomacy from a Position of Strength
Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi briefed military officials on the latest round of indirect nuclear talks with the United States. Araghchi stated that Iran is negotiating from a “position of strength,” asserting that the readiness of the Armed Forces is the primary factor bolstering Tehran’s confidence at the bargaining table.
“Our diplomacy is grounded in the preparedness of our military,” Araghchi said, emphasizing that defense capabilities provide the necessary support for Iran’s foreign policy objectives.
A Unified Front for National Sovereignty
Major General Amir Hatami, leading the military delegation, warned that any “miscalculation” by adversaries would trigger a military response “never seen before.” Hatami stressed that the Iranian Army remains on high alert and has significantly increased its strength since the 12-day conflict in June.
“The enemy only understands the language of power,” Hatami said. He described the military and diplomatic sectors as a single, inseparable arena dedicated to defending Iran’s territorial integrity and national interests.
Strategic Coordination
The meeting included Deputy for Coordination Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari and Navy Commander Rear Admiral Shahram Irani. Both sides emphasized the necessity of integrating military prowess with diplomatic initiatives to safeguard national sovereignty.
The high-level talks took place ahead of the “22 Bahman” celebrations, marking the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution. (PW)
