Iranian Navy Commander: Special Programs Underway to Showcase Maritime Power
Rear Admiral Shahram Irani says Iran will assert naval authority through indigenous capabilities, culture, and resistance-based identity amid US–Israeli militarization
Iran| PUREWILAYAH.COM — Commander of the Iranian Army Navy Force, Rear Admiral Shahram Irani, announced that the Navy has prepared special programs to present Iran’s maritime authority and capabilities to the public, stressing that the sea has long been one of the nation’s strategic strengths.
Speaking on Sunday at the unveiling ceremony of the Iranian Navy’s documentary and musical works at the Navy Command Headquarters, Rear Admiral Irani underlined that Iran’s naval power is rooted in indigenous innovation, cultural identity, and steadfast faith—standing in clear opposition to the militarized dominance imposed by the United States and the Israeli occupation regime across regional waters.
Maritime Power as a Pillar of National Strength
Rear Admiral Irani stated that major global powers seek to demonstrate their military strength through maritime displays, adding that Iran, too, views the sea as a historic and strategic domain of strength.
“To introduce the authority and capabilities of our nation’s sons in the maritime arena to the people, we have specific programs that are now on our agenda,” he said.
He emphasized that Iran’s naval authority is not borrowed from foreign doctrines or dependent on Western weapon systems, but is instead shaped by domestic knowledge, national needs, and independent strategic planning.
Indigenous Technology and Readiness Against Threats
Highlighting Iran’s approach to defense readiness, Rear Admiral Irani said the Navy is developing equipment specifically designed to meet Iran’s own operational requirements, particularly in response to evolving threats.
He noted that advanced military art in cyber and electronic domains plays a vital role in ensuring preparedness, enabling Iran to confront hostile pressures imposed by the US and its regional and Israeli allies.
“With reliance on God and trust in our capabilities, we will succeed on this path,” he affirmed.
Art and Culture as Instruments of Resistance
Rear Admiral Irani stressed the decisive role of art in preserving Iran’s maritime identity and transferring national authority across generations.
“All artistic capacities—from cinema and books to music and storytelling—can be effective,” he said, adding that even educational materials must reflect the maritime power achieved through the blood of martyrs and the victory of the Islamic Revolution.
He described storytelling as one of the most profound and effective means of conveying deep concepts, praising the commitment and precision of artists who have documented the Navy’s legacy in a dignified and lasting manner.
Toward a Maritime Civilization
Pointing to Iran’s long-standing tradition of innovation, Rear Admiral Irani recalled that even the ship’s rudder traces its origins to Iranian ingenuity.
He said Iran is striving to build a maritime civilization by leveraging its scientific capacities and guiding youth and future generations toward maritime professions—both military and commercial—to secure the country’s future.
Innovative tools such as animation and artificial intelligence, he added, are now part of the Navy’s cultural strategy to produce impactful works that inspire and inform young people about their national mission.
Faith, Sacrifice, and Enduring Legacy
Rear Admiral Irani emphasized that faith, devotion, and reliance on God form the core identity of the Iranian Navy, noting that this belief system has immortalized names such as Captain Abbas and historic operations like “Morvarid” (Pearl).
“The path founded on trust in God and devotion to the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) will not fade—it will grow stronger day by day,” he said.
He described veteran naval personnel as precious “pearls,” whose experience, faith, and strategic wisdom are passed on to future generations.
Confronting US–Israeli Maritime Hegemony
Iranian officials stressed that today the Navy is recognized as a decisive and vital force, operating with willpower, knowledge, and faith rather than submission to foreign pressure.
In contrast to the US–Israeli militarization of regional seas and the occupation’s repeated aggression, Iran’s naval doctrine emphasizes sovereignty, self-reliance, and collective strength.
Rear Admiral Irani concluded by reaffirming the Navy’s commitment to cooperation with the artistic community, stating that unity, cohesion, and overcoming storms are only possible through collective effort and reliance on God. (PW)
