Iranian Army Integrates 1,000 Strategic UAVs Across All Service Branches
New drone fleet, developed after the 12-day war, enhances strike, reconnaissance, and electronic warfare capabilities amid evolving threat assessments
IRAN | PUREWILAYAH.COM — Acting on a directive from the Commander of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Army on Tuesday officially integrated 1,000 strategic unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) into the operational structure of its four service branches.
The newly inducted UAVs were developed in direct response to emerging security challenges and operational lessons drawn from the recent 12-day war. According to military officials, the systems were designed and manufactured by Army specialists in close cooperation with the Ministry of Defense, reflecting a push toward indigenous capability and battlefield adaptability.
Designed across multiple operational categories—including strike, offensive, reconnaissance, and electronic warfare—the drones are intended for the engagement of specific fixed and mobile targets across maritime, aerial, and ground domains.
Army Leadership Reaffirms Readiness for Rapid and Decisive Response
Following the integration of ground-based and sea-based UAVs, Army chief Major General Amir Hatami emphasized that maintaining and enhancing strategic advantages remains a standing priority for the Army.
He stated that preparedness for rapid combat operations and decisive responses to any form of aggression continues to guide the Army’s defense planning in accordance with anticipated threats.
Due to military security considerations, no images of the integrated UAVs have been released. (PW)
