Iranian Army Chief of Staff: Any Reckless Move by the Enemy Will Cost Them Heavy Losses
Admiral Habibollah Sayyari says Iran is fully prepared for land, sea, and air threats, dismisses US aircraft carrier deployments as hollow intimidation
Iran | PUREWILAYAH.COM —Admiral Habibollah Sayyari, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Army, warned that any reckless move undertaken by the “enemy” would result in heavy losses, stressing that experience has proven the futility of power displays such as deploying aircraft carriers to the region.
Speaking on Wednesday about the conditions of hybrid and cognitive warfare waged against the Islamic Republic of Iran, Admiral Sayyari said that when the enemy fails to achieve tangible results through military measures, it turns to soft, hybrid, and psychological warfare.
“But we are not novices in this arena,” he emphasized. “Our officials and our people are fully aware of the concepts of soft, hybrid, and cognitive wars, and they know that the solution to confronting the enemy’s deceptions under current conditions lies in unity, cohesion, coordination, synergy, and mutual support.”
He added that the enemy seeks to undermine this unity, but Iran’s people have repeatedly thwarted hostile plots at the right moment.
“A clear example is the massive popular presence in the January 12 marches, which foiled the enemy’s scheme. The people demonstrated the same spirit through their presence following the twelve-day war. The enemy continues to attempt to disrupt this cohesion and solidarity, but it will never succeed, because the Iranian people are aware, perceptive, and know their enemy well.”
U.S. Gunboat Diplomacy Has Failed
Commenting on the United States’ display of military power through the deployment of aircraft carriers, the Chief of Staff and Deputy for Coordination Affairs of the Army said:
“Since 1981, the United States has pursued what can be described as gunboat diplomacy. It seeks to intimidate others by deploying massive vessels and large-scale military equipment, creating the illusion of its ability to inflict damage.”
Recalling the historic positions of Imam Khomeini (ra), Admiral Sayyari stated:
“They seek dominance through such measures, but we have learned a great lesson from the late Imam (ra): not to fear these hollow powers.”
He continued:
“The sight of one fleet arriving, followed by another, must not lead us to miscalculate. If aggression occurs, be assured that they will suffer severe losses.”
Faith and Initiative Outweigh Advanced Weaponry
Referring to the experiences of the Sacred Defense era (1980–1988) and recent developments, Admiral Sayyari said:
“We must not assume that the enemy is superior merely because it possesses advanced equipment. Were not all resources placed at our enemy’s disposal during the eight years of the Sacred Defense? Yet we possess advantages they lack—faith, belief, initiative, creativity, and capabilities that were clearly demonstrated during those eight years, as well as during the imposed twelve-day war.”
He added:
“We also possess the capability to inflict damage upon the enemy, and the enemy is fully aware of this. It factors into its calculations that any reckless adventure will result in heavy losses.”
Iran’s Army Ready on Land, Sea, and Air
In concluding remarks, Admiral Sayyari stressed that the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran is fully prepared to defend the country’s territorial integrity, independence, and political system, and remains firmly committed to carrying out its duties with full strength.
He expressed hope that, as during the Sacred Defense, the army will continue to enjoy comprehensive popular support, noting that without the people’s presence on the ground, standing against the enemy would be impossible.
“The Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran is always on full alert to confront any threat,” he said. “It makes no difference whether the threat comes by land, sea, or air. We stand firm, and we will continue to stand firm.” (PW)
