Iran Warns US and Israel Over Lebanon Ceasefire Violations
Senior Iranian military officials warn that continued Israeli attacks on Lebanon constitute a breach of the US-Iran ceasefire and will carry consequences.
Iran, PUREWILAYAH.COM — Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi warned Monday that any violation of the ceasefire in Lebanon would be considered a violation of the broader ceasefire agreement between Iran and the United States, holding both Washington and Israel responsible for the consequences.
In a statement posted on X, Araghchi stressed that the ceasefire is not limited to a single front.
“For immediate attention: The ceasefire between Iran and the US is unequivocally a ceasefire on all fronts, including in Lebanon. Its violation on one front is a violation of the ceasefire on all fronts.” he wrote.
He added that any violation on one front constitutes a violation of the ceasefire as a whole.
“The US and Israel are responsible for the consequences of any violation..”
Iranian Armed Forces Issue Warning
The warning came as Israeli attacks on Lebanon continue despite the ceasefire framework.
In a seperate statement, Iranian Armed Forces spokesman Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi condemned what he described as ongoing Israeli crimes against the Lebanese people, accusing the Israeli regime of exploiting the ceasefire to continue its attacks on Lebanese territory.
He stated that more than 3,000 innocent people, including women and children, have been killed while Western governments have either remained silent or supported the actions.
Shekarchi warned that the continuation of Israeli attacks against Lebanon would not be tolerated by the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
“The continuation of these brutal crimes against Lebanon will not be tolerated by the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran,” he said.
The statements from Araghchi and Shekarchi represent Iran’s latest warning regarding continued Israeli military operations in Lebanon, amid growing tensions over repeated violations of the ceasefire and ongoing attacks on Lebanese territory. (PW)
