Iran Warns US Amid Gulf Buildup: Any Hostile Act Will Not Go Unanswered
Iran denounces Washington’s expanding military presence in the Gulf as intimidation and vows firm resistance against encirclement and psychological warfare.
Iran, PUREWILAYAH.COM – Iran has strongly condemned the latest United States military buildup across the Gulf, branding it as an act of intimidation and regional destabilization.
Defense Minister Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh reaffirmed on Thursday that the Islamic Republic is fully prepared to defend its sovereignty against what it views as Washington’s psychological warfare and militarization.
“Iran is ready to defend its country regardless of the movements of US cargo aircraft toward the region,” Nasirzadeh declared, calling on national institutions to remain steadfast in the face of pressure.
He accused Washington of conducting maneuvers—including tanker flights, surveillance operations, and naval deployments—to instill fear among the Iranian population. Any hostile act, he warned, “will not go unanswered.”
US Deployments and the Qatar Pact
According to Newsweek and other US outlets, Washington’s recent military moves include the mass deployment of KC-135 aerial refueling tankers, advanced fighter squadrons, and naval reinforcements near the Gulf and Eastern Mediterranean.
Much of the buildup is centered on Qatar’s Al Udeid Air Base, the hub of American air operations in the region. Tehran sees this as part of a broader escalation tied to the newly signed US-Qatar defense pact, under which President Donald Trump pledged that any attack on Qatari territory would trigger an American military response.
From Tehran’s perspective, this agreement transforms Qatar into a forward-operating platform for US regional ambitions, effectively extending Washington’s security perimeter into the heart of the Persian Gulf. Iranian officials argue that the pact blurs the line between defense and aggression, giving the US pretexts to expand its presence under the guise of “protecting allies.”
Analysts: Escalation Aimed at Containing Iran
Iranian political observers highlight the timing of the agreement, coming amid heightened tensions involving “Israel” and regional resistance groups. They argue the US seeks to consolidate influence over Gulf states while constraining Iran’s regional posture.
Tehran officials denounce the pact as further proof that Washington’s policies are rooted in coercion rather than diplomacy, reinforcing a cycle of militarization and external interference.
Strategic Defiance and Nuclear Warning
In a related development, Iran’s Supreme National Security Council warned that any hostile action against the Islamic Republic or its nuclear infrastructure—including attempts to revive expired UN Security Council sanctions through the so-called snapback mechanism—would prompt an immediate suspension of cooperation with the IAEA.
Separately, Ebrahim Azizi, head of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, dismissed Washington’s “maximum pressure” campaign as a failure.
“Those who stand behind this policy will regret it this time more than ever before,” Azizi stressed, underlining Iran’s confidence in the collapse of Western coercion.
Despite mounting US deployments and defense guarantees to regional allies, Tehran remains defiant. Iranian leaders insist that no amount of external pressure will force the Islamic Republic into submission, pledging a decisive response to any aggression against its sovereignty, people, or nuclear infrastructure.
