Iran Unveils Advanced Missile, Warns U.S. Bases Will Be Targets if Provoked
As tensions escalate with the U.S. and Israel, Iran pledges swift response to any attack and introduces a new precision-guided ballistic missile capable of evading advanced defenses.
Iran, PUREWILAYAH.COM - Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh issued a stern warning on Monday, declaring that any military attack on Iran would trigger a forceful response targeting all U.S. interests and bases in the region. He emphasized that Tehran would not hesitate in exercising its right to defend itself.
“We hold no hostility toward our neighboring nations—we see them as brothers. But if we are attacked, U.S. bases in the region will become our targets,” Nasirzadeh stated in response to recent threats from U.S. officials.
Iran Unveils "Qasim Basir" Missile With Advanced Capabilities
During the same announcement, Nasirzadeh unveiled a new Iranian missile, named Qasim Basir. The missile features advanced guidance and maneuverability systems, making it capable of overcoming all defense systems designed to intercept ballistic missiles.
According to the minister, the missile can overcome electronic warfare, evade radar detection, and strike targets with high precision, even in heavily defended zones.
Iranian state television described the Qasim Basir as a technological breakthrough developed through experience gained during the "True Promise" operations. Technical assessments aired by the broadcaster claim that, with the new missile, missile interception rates could fall below 5% out of every 100 launched.

Israel Threatens Iran After Yemeni Strike
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued his own warning to Tehran following a Yemeni missile strike on Ben Gurion Airport, which he claimed was backed by Iran. Netanyahu vowed to retaliate at a time and place of Israel’s choosing, holding Iran responsible for the attack.
This comes amid growing tensions between Iran and the Israeli occupation, particularly as U.S.-Iran nuclear talks have stalled. The fourth round of negotiations regarding Tehran’s nuclear program was recently postponed.
Reports: Israel Considering Attack on Iran
According to foreign sources cited by the Israeli news outlet Walla, Iran possesses around 2,000 ballistic missiles with the capacity to reach Israel. Military affairs analyst Amir Bohbot noted that Israel's security establishment is currently on high alert, awaiting a decision by U.S. President Donald Trump regarding the direction of nuclear talks.
The report suggests that should talks collapse, Israel may see an opportunity to pursue military action, although President Trump has reportedly discouraged unilateral action by Israel without prior U.S. coordination.
Netanyahu Rejects U.S. Position on Enrichment
In a public divergence from the U.S. administration, Netanyahu called on April 25 for the complete dismantling of Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, rejecting any agreement that allows Iran to continue uranium enrichment.
Meanwhile, Iranian officials have expressed willingness to negotiate limitations on their nuclear program but remain firm that ending uranium enrichment or relinquishing existing enriched uranium stockpiles are non-negotiable “red lines.” (PW)
