Iran to Deliver Formal Response to US Nuclear Proposal Within Two Days
Tehran’s Reply, to Be Sent via Diplomatic Channels, Will Outline Conditions for Uranium Enrichment and Sanctions Relief
Iran, PUREWILAYAH.COM - Iran is reportedly preparing to deliver its official response to a recent proposal from the United States within the next two days, according to informed sources cited by Tasnim News Agency.
The American proposal was submitted to Tehran through Omani mediation, and Iran’s reply will also be conveyed through diplomatic channels, reflecting the ongoing indirect dialogue between the two countries.
Iran's Conditions: Enrichment and Sanctions Relief
Iran’s response is said to include a framework for a final nuclear agreement that ensures:
The continuation of uranium enrichment within Iran, and
A series of measures designed to alleviate US concerns, in exchange for the effective removal of sanctions.
This marks a potential step forward in the long-running efforts to revive diplomatic momentum around Iran’s nuclear file, with key national priorities and red lines at the core of Tehran’s approach.
Tehran Open to Further Negotiations—Within Red Lines
According to Tasnim, Iran will also express its readiness for another round of indirect nuclear talks with the US—on the condition that its red lines are respected.
This readiness highlights Iran’s willingness to pursue a negotiated path, while firmly upholding its sovereign rights and strategic interests.
Omani Mediation and Statement from Araqchi
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi recently confirmed the transmission of the US proposal via Oman’s top diplomat:
“My dear brother Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, distinguished Foreign Minister of Oman, paid a short visit to Tehran today to present elements of a US proposal which will be appropriately responded to in line with the principles, national interests and rights of the people of Iran,” Araqchi stated in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
Since April 12, Iran and the United States have conducted five rounds of indirect talks, with Oman acting as a key mediator. The core objective of these talks is to reach a comprehensive agreement on Iran’s nuclear program and secure the lifting of US-imposed sanctions on Tehran.
As diplomatic channels remain active, the next 48 hours could prove critical in determining the trajectory of future negotiations. (PW)
