Iran, PUREWILAYAH.COM — Iran’s Armed Forces have expanded their retaliatory campaign against the United States following attacks on southern Iran, with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the Iranian Army announcing a series of operations targeting American military assets across the region.
The developments came hours after Iran declared the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and warned that its response to U.S. military actions would continue.
Iran Targets U.S. Air Bases Across the Region
In an official statement, the IRGC announced that 18 significant U.S. military targets were struck during two waves of operations carried out in the early hours of Wednesday.
According to the statement, the operations were launched in response to what Iran described as attacks by the U.S. military against service facilities, coastal outposts of the IRGC, law enforcement positions, and the vicinity of Bandar Abbas Airport.
The IRGC said units from its Aerospace Force and Navy targeted military objectives associated with Ali Al Salem Air Base, Ahmad Al Jaber Air Base, and Sheikh Isa Air Base.
Quoting the Qur’anic verse, “So whoever has assaulted you, then assault him in the same way that he has assaulted you,” the statement described the operation as punishment for what it called American aggression.
Drone Strikes Target U.S. Fifth Fleet in Bahrain
At the same time, the Iranian Army announced a drone operation against the U.S. Fifth Fleet in Bahrain.
According to the Army, the operation was carried out after what it described as repeated violations of the ceasefire and continued U.S. attacks on southern Iran.
The statement said various types of attack drones were employed against the Fifth Fleet, with communication antennas and Patriot air defense radar facilities among the targets.
The Army added that it remains fully prepared, alongside other branches of Iran’s Armed Forces, to continue confronting the United States and would not cease operations until the aggressor is punished.
Iranian media also reported multiple explosions near U.S. military facilities in Bahrain and Kuwait as regional tensions continued to escalate.
Although explosions and sirens were heard in Bahrain, reports indicate that certain missiles might have impacted their targets without sounding sirens.
Tehran: Armed Response Will Continue
The Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters stated that the suspension of U.S. attacks on parts of southern Iran, reportedly announced by the American president, was the direct result of Iran’s military response.
According to the headquarters, the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic imposed “another defeat” on the U.S. military and forced Washington to halt its attacks.
The command emphasized that Iran’s response to American aggression and hostile actions would continue. (PW)
