Iran Sent No New Message to U.S., Denounces Washington’s Lack of Will for Agreement
Secretary of the SNSC, Ali Larijani said that No new message has been conveyed to the United States; however, it is clear that Iran has consistently pursued the lifting of sanctions
Iran, PUREWILAYAH.COM — Iran’s Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani, has dismissed claims of renewed indirect communication with the United States, reaffirming that Tehran has not conveyed any new message to Washington and that its stance on lifting sanctions remains unchanged.
In a statement posted on X, Larijani wrote in English:
“No new message has been conveyed to the United States; however, it is clear that Iran has consistently pursued the lifting of sanctions.”
He further rejected suggestions that Iran seeks to maintain the existing restrictions, asking:
“Can anyone claim that we desire sanctions? All the government’s objectives and diplomatic efforts are focused on ending them.”
Previous Negotiations Showed No Progress
Larijani clarified that no new communication has been initiated because earlier rounds of negotiations had already taken place without meaningful progress.
“The reason no new message has been sent is that previous negotiations had already taken place, and the other side showed no willingness to reach an agreement,” he explained.
The senior official underlined that Iran’s position remains firm—focused on ending the illegal sanctions regime and restoring the country’s economic stability. He stressed that Washington’s lack of readiness to finalize prior understandings has been the main obstacle to any progress.
Proposal to Resume Nuclear Talks Received by Tehran
Earlier this month, government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani confirmed that the Iranian Foreign Ministry had received messages containing a proposal to resume talks on the nuclear issue.
“The [Iranian] Foreign Ministry has received messages containing a proposal to resume talks on the Iranian nuclear issue,” Mohajerani said, adding that details of the proposal would be disclosed in due course.
Last week, Iraqi news agency Baghdad Al-Youm reported that the United States had sent a message to Iran via Oman proposing to restart the dialogue, which was suspended earlier this summer. However, the agency later refuted its own report, and several media outlets also denied the claim.
President Pezeshkian: Iran’s Scientific Power Cannot Be Destroyed
Meanwhile, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian reiterated that Iran’s nuclear knowledge and capabilities remain intact despite U.S. pressures.
In a statement published on Sunday and quoted from his administration’s Telegram channel, Pezeshkian affirmed:
“Scientific knowledge is preserved in the minds of our scientists, so by destroying nuclear facilities and factories, [the U.S.] will not create problems for Tehran.”
The president’s remarks underscored Iran’s determination to safeguard and rebuild its nuclear program while resisting American coercion and unilateral pressure.
In essence, Tehran maintains a clear stance: it will not send new messages or engage in empty negotiations with Washington until the United States demonstrates genuine willingness to lift sanctions and respect previous understandings. (PW)
