Iran Rejects Trump’s Claims on Deal, Says No Final Agreement Has Been Reached
Iranian media and informed sources reject Trump’s claims on a possible agreement, saying key issues remain unresolved and Iran’s red lines remain unchanged.
Iran, PUREWILAYAH.COM — Iranian media and informed sources have firmly rejected recent statements by U.S. President Donald Trump regarding a potential agreement between Tehran and Washington, describing his claims as unilateral, inaccurate, and detached from the realities of the ongoing negotiations.
According to Iranian state television, no agreement has yet been reached with the United States, and the text promoted by Trump remains a one-sided proposal that has not been accepted by Iran.
The report stressed that Tehran has not sent Washington the alleged 14-point document discussed by several media outlets. It also dismissed Trump’s claims regarding Iran’s enriched nuclear materials as nothing more than wishes and aspirations that have no connection to Iran’s sovereign decisions or commitments.
Iranian television further stated that Trump’s latest remarks regarding enriched nuclear materials represent a public retreat from his earlier demands that those materials be transferred to the United States.
No Final Agreement, No Acceptance of American Conditions
Iranian state television emphasized that Trump is fully aware that no agreement will be possible unless Iranian funds frozen abroad are released.
The broadcaster also criticized Trump’s failure to address what Tehran considers a fundamental issue: the withdrawal of American forces from areas surrounding Iran. According to Iranian media, this demand remains a firm and non-negotiable component of Iran’s position.
Earlier, an informed source told Tasnim News Agency that the final framework agreement between Tehran and Washington has not yet completed its final drafting process.
The source added that reports published by Western media regarding the contents of the memorandum of understanding lack accuracy and do not reflect the current state of negotiations.
Although discussions continue through Pakistani mediation and drafts continue to be exchanged between the two sides, Tehran has repeatedly stressed that any agreement must fully safeguard Iran’s national interests.
Fars Sources: Trump Distorted the Main Elements of the Agreement
At the same time, informed sources speaking to Iran’s Fars News Agency rejected Trump’s recent statements regarding the potential agreement, describing them as inaccurate and misleading.
According to the sources, the framework agreement has reached the final stages of approval inside Iran, but no final decision has yet been made.
The agency refuted Trump's distortion of the main elements of the potential agreement.
Regarding the Strait of Hormuz, Trump claimed that Iran would be obligated to open the strategic waterway without collecting any fees. However, the sources stated that no such clause exists in the agreement.
They explained that once the naval blockade is lifted, Iran will reopen the Strait of Hormuz according to arrangements determined by Tehran itself. Those arrangements could include monitoring and inspecting vessels, providing maritime services, and ensuring security throughout the passage.
The sources also rejected Trump’s assertion that Iran would dismantle or destroy its enriched nuclear materials.
According to Fars, not only does the memorandum of understanding contain no such provision, but the claim itself is entirely baseless.
Frozen Assets Remain a Central Condition
One of the most important issues omitted by Trump, according to the sources, is the immediate release of $12 billion in frozen Iranian assets.
The sources stressed that this payment constitutes a core element of the agreement and must be carried out immediately.
Under the proposed framework, Iran will not enter any subsequent stage of negotiations if the funds are not released. Failure to implement this provision would constitute a violation of American commitments.
The sources further noted that another key issue ignored by Trump is a complete ceasefire in Lebanon in accordance with Hizbullah’s position.
According to Fars, Iran will only proceed to the next phase of discussions concerning the lifting of all sanctions and the nuclear issue after these matters are resolved.
Iranian officials have repeatedly emphasized that any final agreement will be drafted strictly according to the principles and red lines of the Islamic Republic and on the basis of complete distrust toward the United States.
Officials stressed that any violation of commitments by Washington would trigger an immediate reciprocal response from Tehran.
Iranian Source: Trump Expressed His Wishes, Not Reality
In remarks carried by Mehr News Agency, an Iranian source said Trump’s latest statements reflected his wishes and ambitions rather than the reality of the negotiations.
The source emphasized that significant disagreements remain unresolved and that no final understanding has yet been reached between Iran and the United States.
Tasnim News Agency similarly argued that Trump’s insistence on withholding frozen Iranian funds only deepens Tehran’s doubts about Washington’s seriousness.
The agency noted that Iran has consistently demanded clarity regarding its frozen assets before any preliminary understanding can be reached.
Tasnim also rejected Trump’s claims concerning the nuclear issue, describing them as false and without foundation, while stressing that detailed discussions on the nuclear file are not currently taking place.
Trump Announces End of Naval Blockade
Earlier on Friday, Trump announced the lifting of the naval blockade imposed on Iran, stating that ships stranded in the Strait of Hormuz could begin returning home.
In a post published on Truth Social, Trump declared that the Strait of Hormuz should be opened immediately and free of charge to unrestricted maritime traffic in both directions.
He also called for the removal of all naval mines, if any exist in the strait.
Regarding Iran’s nuclear program, Trump reiterated that Iran must never possess a nuclear weapon.
He further claimed that enriched nuclear materials, which he described as “nuclear dust,” are buried deep underground and that the United States would oversee their extraction in cooperation with Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency before their destruction.
Trump also stated that no funds would be exchanged “until further notice,” while asserting that several other provisions had already been agreed upon.
His statements, however, were quickly challenged by Iranian media and informed sources, who maintain that no final agreement exists and that several of Washington’s claims do not correspond to the actual contents of the ongoing negotiations.
As discussions continue through Pakistani mediation, Tehran insists that any future agreement must protect Iran’s sovereign rights, national interests, and strategic red lines. (PW)
