Iran Reaffirms Its Position to China Ahead of Trump’s Visit
Iran’s ambassador in Beijing says strategic cooperation with China gives Tehran diplomatic depth and strengthens its ability to withstand U.S. pressure with real alternatives and powerful partners.
China, PUREWILAYAH.COM — Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to China, said Tehran has conveyed a clear and uncompromising message to Beijing regarding the future of the Strait of Hormuz and regional stability: the war must end permanently, a durable ceasefire must be established, the siege must be lifted, and Iran’s legitimate rights must be respected.
Speaking about China’s diplomatic efforts following the U.S.-imposed war on Iran, Rahmani Fazli said Beijing has worked to keep the path to dialogue open through consultations with influential actors, a joint peace initiative with Pakistan, and the four-point proposal presented by Chinese President Xi Jinping.
“The central question for Tehran is whether the other side is prepared to hear Iran’s real message,” he said.
“Iran’s message is clear: a permanent end to the war, a stable ceasefire, the lifting of the blockade, and respect for Iran’s legitimate rights. China can convey this message at the level of the major powers.”
China Gives Iran Strategic Diplomatic Depth
Rahmani Fazli said Iran’s long-term strategic partnership with China provides the Islamic Republic with an important source of diplomatic leverage at a time of global transformation.
“The Comprehensive Strategic Partnership gains its true meaning at moments like this,” he said. “This document is not merely about investment, oil, infrastructure, or trade. It is about defining Iran’s place in a changing world order.”
He added that long-term cooperation with China creates “strategic diplomatic depth,” allowing Tehran to demonstrate that it possesses genuine alternatives, influential partners, and significant capacities to withstand American pressure.
Beijing Asks Pakistan to Intensify Mediation
In a parallel development supporting these efforts, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi urged Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar to intensify Islamabad’s mediation between Iran and the United States.
According to China’s Foreign Ministry, Wang Yi also called for a more active Pakistani role in resolving issues related to the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and restoring stability in West Asia.
Both sides stressed the importance of maintaining a lasting ceasefire and ensuring the uninterrupted passage of vessels through the Strait of Hormuz, a vital artery for global energy trade.
Tehran Strengthens Its Position Before Trump’s Beijing Visit
The diplomatic coordination comes as U.S. President Donald Trump travels to Beijing, where he is expected to arrive on Wednesday.
By deepening strategic coordination with China and reinforcing regional mediation channels, Tehran is signaling that it enters any future negotiations from a position of strength, backed by major international partners and with a clear set of non-negotiable demands. (PW)
