Iran Praised for Fulfilling Islamic Duty in Support of Palestine, Says Ansarullah Chief
Ansarullah Leader Praises Iran's Support for Palestine, Criticizes Arab Inaction
Yemen, PUREWILAYAH.COM - In a televised address from Sana’a on May 15, 2025, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, the leader of Yemen’s Ansarullah resistance movement, commended Iran for its steadfast support of the Palestinian people and their cause. Al-Houthi emphasized that Iran’s actions represent an honorable and praiseworthy Islamic approach, urging other Muslim nations to follow Iran’s example in supporting Palestine and resistance movements.
Al-Houthi stated, “Iran is pursuing a praiseworthy Islamic approach by embracing the Palestinian cause and supporting resistance fighters. This is what every Muslim state must do.”
He further asserted that Iran has “proven and fulfilled its Islamic duty by helping Palestine,” highlighting the Islamic Republic’s commitment to the Palestinian struggle.
The Ansarullah chief criticized Arab countries for their lack of a concrete and unified stance on the Palestinian issue. He argued that the absence of Arab unity has weakened the Palestinian cause on the international stage, with some Arab regimes advocating for policies of surrender and concessions rather than meaningful support.
Al-Houthi called for a comprehensive reassessment of the Muslim world’s policies to effectively confront Zionist aggression and provide genuine support to the Palestinian people. He cited the example of Hezbollah’s resistance in Lebanon, noting their success in driving out Israeli forces through perseverance and sacrifice.
Reflecting on the Nakba, or the 1948 “Catastrophe” that marked the mass displacement of Palestinians, al-Houthi remarked that the aggressive and criminal nature of the Zionist entity has remained unchanged for 77 years. He criticized Western countries for their unwavering support of Israel, arguing that this exposes the hypocrisy of their human rights rhetoric.
Al-Houthi also condemned the ongoing Israeli military actions in Gaza, reporting that over 1,200 people, mostly women and children, were killed or injured in Israeli attacks in the past week alone. He stated that the number of martyrs in Gaza has surpassed 1,800, with more than 7,700 wounded since the resumption of Israeli aggression in March.
He further criticized the Palestinian Authority for what he described as its suppression of Palestinians and collaboration with Israel, and attributed the continued Israeli aggression to the lack of will among Arab armies to resist.
Addressing the situation in Yemen, al-Houthi reiterated that Sana’a would not negotiate under humiliating conditions and would not submit to U.S. pressure. He affirmed Yemen’s commitment to negotiations and peace, but not at the cost of total surrender.
Al-Houthi’s remarks underscore the ongoing regional tensions and the central role of the Palestinian issue in Middle Eastern politics, as well as the divisions among Muslim-majority countries regarding how best to respond to the conflict.(PW)
