Iran National Security Chief Arrives in Muscat, Meets Sultan of Oman and Senior Officials
Ali Larijani begins official visit to Oman, holding high-level talks with the Sultan and senior officials amid ongoing regional and international diplomatic efforts.
Oman, PUREWILAYAH.COM — Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, held meetings with the Sultan of Oman and several senior officials after arriving in Muscat on Tuesday morning as part of an official visit to the Sultanate of Oman.
The talks addressed regional developments and ongoing international negotiations.
Meeting With the Sultan of Oman
According to Oman’s Official News Agency, cited by Tasnim News Agency, Larijani met on Tuesday with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said. The meeting took place at Al Barakah Palace.
During the meeting, the Sultan of Oman and the Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council discussed negotiations between Iran and the United States, as well as possible pathways toward achieving a balanced and just agreement.
Both sides emphasized the importance of returning to dialogue and negotiations in order to narrow differences and bring positions closer together.
Oman’s official news agency reported that the two sides also stressed the importance of resolving disputes through peaceful means to safeguard peace and security at both regional and global levels.
Meeting With Senior Omani Officials
Earlier, as part of his visit to Muscat, Larijani also held talks with Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nuamani, Minister of the Royal Office of Oman.
According to Tasnim, the meeting took place shortly after Larijani’s arrival in Muscat. Al Nuamani personally welcomed the Iranian official at Muscat International Airport as part of the official reception protocol.
The reception marked the beginning of a series of diplomatic meetings between the Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council and senior officials of the Sultanate. (PW)
