Iran FM Arrives in New Delhi for BRICS Summit
Iran’s foreign minister was welcomed by Iranian and Indian officials in New Delhi as Tehran pressed BRICS members to confront illegal American and Israeli aggression against the Islamic Republic.
India, PUREWILAYAH.COM — Seyed Abbas Araghchi arrived in New Delhi on Wednesday to participate in the meeting of BRICS foreign ministers, as Tehran intensified diplomatic efforts to mobilize support against U.S. and Israeli aggression on Iran.
Araghchi was received at the airport by Mohammad Fathali, Iran’s ambassador to India; Abdul Majid Hakeem Elahi; and Indian government officials.
During his visit, Araghchi is expected to attend the BRICS foreign ministers’ meeting and hold bilateral talks with officials participating in the gathering.
The meeting serves as a prelude to the 18th BRICS Summit, scheduled to take place in New Delhi in September under India’s presidency.
Iran Calls for Accountability Over U.S.-Israeli Aggression
Kazem Gharibabadi, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs and the country’s national representative to BRICS, met separately with counterparts from Indonesia, South Africa, Brazil, India, and Egypt.
During the meetings, Gharibabadi described the U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran as violations of international law and the United Nations Charter.
He urged BRICS members to oppose unilateralism, support an end to military aggression, and help hold the aggressors accountable.





BRICS Members Express Support and Concern
Representatives from several BRICS countries emphasized diplomacy and multilateral cooperation.
Brazil expressed solidarity with the Iranian government and people and reaffirmed its principled opposition to military attacks on Iran.
South Africa reiterated its commitment to international law and multilateralism.
India said the conflict had affected energy prices, fertilizer costs, and cargo transportation, while expressing hope that the cessation of hostilities would lead to lasting peace.
Egypt said it would seek to play a constructive role in helping end the crisis.
Indonesia stated that significant opportunities exist to expand bilateral cooperation with Iran within the BRICS framework.
