Iran Demands UN Action After Trump Admits U.S. Role in June Attacks
Tehran cites President Trump’s own admission as evidence of U.S. direction and control over strikes that killed over 1,100 civilians and targeted safeguarded nuclear sites.
Iran, PUREWILAYAH.COM - Iran has formally called on the United Nations to hold both the United States and the Israeli regime responsible for deadly attacks carried out against Iranian territory between June 13 and 24, 2025.
The request came in a letter dated November 11, 2025, submitted by Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi to the UN Security Council.
Trump’s Statement Presented as “Clear Evidence”
In the letter, Iran cited remarks made by U.S. President Donald Trump on November 6, in which he openly stated:
“Israel attacked (Iran) first. That attack was very, very powerful. I was very much in charge of that.”
Tehran said this admission constitutes “clear evidence under international law” that the United States exercised direction and control over the military operations carried out by the Israeli regime—making Washington fully responsible for the aggression, violations of Iran’s sovereignty, and breaches of Article 2(4) of the UN Charter.
Previous Warnings and Documentation
The letter referenced Iran’s prior communications to the Security Council dated June 13, 22, and 28, protesting what it described as “brazen acts of aggression” by both Washington and Tel Aviv.
According to Iran, the coordinated assaults resulted in:
More than 1,100 civilian deaths
Extensive destruction of civilian infrastructure
Direct targeting of peaceful nuclear facilities protected under IAEA safeguards
Tehran said these actions violated international humanitarian law, multiple IAEA resolutions, and UN Security Council Resolution 487 (1981).
Iran: US and Israel Bear Full Responsibility
Araqchi affirmed that both the United States and the Israeli regime must bear the full weight of responsibility for the attacks and are obligated to provide complete reparation for the material and moral damages inflicted on Iran.
The letter further stated that President Trump and other American officials carry individual criminal responsibility for grave breaches of international humanitarian law, including deliberate attacks on:
Civilians
Scientists
Journalists
Hospitals
Prisons
Media facilities
Energy and public infrastructure
Iran stressed that accountability equally applies to Israeli officials who ordered, directed, or participated in the crimes.
Iran Reserves Legal Right to Pursue Accountability
The foreign minister reiterated Tehran’s position that the Islamic Republic will pursue all available legal avenues to ensure accountability:
“The Islamic Republic of Iran reserves its full and unimpeachable right to pursue, through all available legal means, the establishment of accountability for the responsible States and individuals and to secure compensation for the damages sustained.”
Araqchi urged both the UN Secretary-General and the Security Council to take concrete steps toward ensuring accountability for the United States and the Israeli regime, insisting that the perpetrators of the attacks must be brought to justice.
He also requested that the letter be circulated as an official Security Council document, underscoring Iran’s demand for international recognition of the violations and for decisive UN action. (PW)
