Iran Demands Compensation from Five Regional States
Iran demands compensation from five regional states over their role in US–Israeli attacks, warning against further use of their territory against Tehran.
Iran, PUREWILAYAH.COM — Iran has officially called for compensation from five regional countries over their participation in the US–Israeli war.
Iran’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Amir Saeid Iravani, stated that Tehran is seeking compensation from Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Jordan for their involvement in the US–Israeli war against the Islamic Republic.
“We are demanding compensation from five regional countries—Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Jordan—for their participation in the US–Israeli war against Iran,” he said.
He stressed that these states, through internationally wrongful acts, have violated their obligations under international law, thereby incurring international responsibility.
They ‘re therefore required to provide “full reparation for the damage caused to the Islamic Republic of Iran, including compensation for all material and moral damages arising from their internationally wrongful acts.”
“These five countries, through their internationally wrongful acts, have violated their international obligations toward the Islamic Republic of Iran under international law, thereby incurring international responsibility, and must provide full reparation for the damage caused to the Islamic Republic of Iran, including the payment of compensation for all material and moral damages resulting from their internationally wrongful acts.”
Iravani Urges Gulf States to Block Use of Territory Against Iran
Last week, Iran’s representative also strongly urged Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates not to allow their territory to be used for attacks against Iran.
In letters addressed to António Guterres and the President of the Security Council, Iravani stated that the Islamic Republic “strongly calls on Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates to adhere to the principles of good neighborliness and prevent the continued use of their territory against Iran.”
He emphasized that while Iran remains committed to good neighborly relations and respect for sovereignty, it reserves the right to take all necessary and appropriate measures, including exercising its inherent right of self-defense, to safeguard its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and political independence.
Iran Details Use of Regional Airspace in UN Complaint
In the same correspondence, Iran also documented what it described as repeated use of regional territory and airspace by US forces to carry out attacks against Iranian targets.
According to the letter, US fighter jets and reconnaissance aircraft operated through Saudi airspace to conduct bombing missions and provide intelligence support, including multiple incidents involving F-16, F-35, and U-2 aircraft.
Iran argued that allowing such operations constitutes a violation of international law, holding the states involved responsible for enabling acts of aggression.
Tehran issued a formal protest over what it described as unlawful actions, warning that it reserves the right to take all necessary measures, including self-defense, to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity. (PW)
