Iran Defense Minister: 582 Main Weapons Systems Localized Over the Past Year
Amir Aziz Nasirzadeh reports major achievements in defense self-sufficiency, private sector cooperation, and technological advancement, Asserting strengthened national security and economic resilience
Iran, PUREWILAYAH.COM - According to the Defense Affairs Department of Tasnim News Agency, Iran’s Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics, Amir Aziz Nasirzadeh, presented a detailed report today during a parliamentary session reviewing the government’s performance in implementing the Seventh Development Plan.
He announced a significant increase in the country’s defense capacity, the localization of 582 defense-related components, and the creation of 93,000 direct and indirect jobs, stating that these achievements have strengthened both Iran’s defense and economic power.
Defense Capabilities “Quantitatively and Qualitatively in Good Condition”
Referring to the progress made since the 12-day imposed war, Nasirzadeh said:
“In terms of both quantity and quality, the country’s defense capability is in a desirable state, and this is a source of pride for the Iranian nation.”
The Minister added that, in line with Chapter 22, Article 102, and Clause B of the plan, the Ministry of Defense has taken steps to create synergy with the private sector and non-governmental institutions. He noted that a special committee and related regulations were launched in February, leading to the establishment of the Center for Defense Partnerships within the ministry.
Collaboration with the Private Sector and Knowledge-Based Companies
Nasirzadeh reported that the Ministry of Defense currently cooperates with 8,237 private companies, including 1,454 knowledge-based firms and 6,783 private-sector enterprises.
He stated:
“Our total financial engagement with this network amounts to 119 trillion rials, half of which is with knowledge-based companies. Through this collaboration, 93,000 jobs have been created.”
Technological Achievements and Industrial Development
The Minister pointed to numerous technological achievements, noting the production of oil and gas equipment, high-speed and firefighting vessels, odorizing agents for gas, passenger aircraft, offshore platforms, smart water and electricity meters, and an 8,000-ton steel ingot as key accomplishments.
He further explained that the ministry has carried out significant projects in agriculture and food industries, including industrial livestock, poultry, and fisheries complexes in Chabahar.
In the past year alone, 582 types of defense parts and equipment have been localized in cooperation with the private sector.
Aerospace Advances
Nasirzadeh also highlighted progress in the aerospace field, stating:
“We have achieved remarkable advances in the construction of satellites and their launchers, including the Chamran and Keyhan satellites, and the Simorgh and Zoljanah launch vehicles.”
In conclusion, the Defense Minister emphasized the importance of continued support for the Basij forces and FARAJA (Law Enforcement Command), stating that while many assigned tasks have been completed, further financial and logistical support is needed to enhance operations and sustain progress.
