International Quds Day Echoes Across Indonesia: Thousands Declare Solidarity with Palestine and Iran
Rallies across Indonesia mark International Quds Day, as thousands declare solidarity with Palestine and Iran and condemn U.S.–Israeli aggression.
Indonesia, PUREWILAYAH.COM — Thousands of people across multiple cities in Indonesia took to the streets to commemorate International Quds Day on the last Friday of Ramadan, voicing strong support for the Palestinian struggle and condemning the aggression of the United States and Israel in West Asia.
Solidarity rallies were held in major cities including Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang, Surabaya, Samarinda, and Pontianak. Participants carried Palestinian flags, resistance banners, and chanted slogans calling for the liberation of Al-Quds from Israeli occupation.
Speakers at the rallies emphasized that International Quds Day is not merely symbolic, but a global call to confront oppression, colonialism, and the dominance of Zionism.
International Quds Day was first declared by Imam Ruhollah Khomeini in 1979 as a worldwide day of solidarity to raise global awareness of the Palestinian struggle.

Jakarta: Broad Civil Society Rally Calls to End the Gaza Genocide
In Jakarta, the rally commemorating International Quds Day was organized by the National Anti-Zionist Alliance (ANAZ), bringing together participants from a wide range of civil society groups.
Demonstrators gathered in front of the United States Embassy to express solidarity with the Palestinian struggle and condemn Washington’s support for Israeli aggression.
Participants came from diverse backgrounds, including social organizations, religious scholars and community leaders, university students, humanitarian activists, youth communities, and members of the general public.
Protesters carried Palestinian flags, solidarity posters, and banners condemning U.S. backing for Israeli attacks that have caused widespread destruction and the killing of civilians in Gaza.
Speakers stressed that the humanitarian catastrophe facing the Palestinian people is a crime that the world can no longer tolerate, urging the international community to stop remaining silent in the face of the ongoing genocide in Gaza.

Bandung: Solidarity with Palestine and Iran at Gedung Merdeka
In Bandung, hundreds of participants gathered near the historic Gedung Merdeka on Asia Afrika Street to commemorate International Quds Day.
Demonstrators carried Palestinian flags and posters expressing support for the liberation of Palestine and for the sovereignty of the Islamic Republic of Iran, which they said is facing aggression from the United States and Israel.
During the rally, protesters also laid an Israeli flag on the street and allowed passing vehicles to drive over it as a symbolic rejection of Zionism and Israeli policies in the region.
Speakers stated that the aggression against Iran forms part of a broader effort to weaken the resistance front across West Asia.

Semarang: Thousands Reject Policies that Strengthen Zionism
In Semarang, thousands of participants gathered around the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque in a large rally marking International Quds Day.
Speakers strongly criticized policies of normalization with Israel that were previously presented as efforts to promote peace but which, they argued, have instead strengthened Zionist influence in the region.
“Instead of promoting peace, they have become guardians of Zionist interests in the region,” one speaker told the crowd.
Participants also called on the Indonesian government to withdraw from the Board of Peace (BoP), which they said does not reflect a genuine commitment to the Palestinian struggle.

Surabaya: U.S.–Israeli Aggression Against Iran Condemned
In Surabaya, thousands joined a rally marking International Quds Day, voicing solidarity with Palestine and condemning U.S. and Israeli aggression against Iran.
Participants said that attacks on Iran are part of a broader project aimed at dismantling the resistance front across West Asia.
Speakers emphasized that the Palestinian struggle cannot be separated from resistance against U.S. and Israeli dominance in the region.

Samarinda: Call to Continue the Path of the Martyrs
In Samarinda, hundreds gathered at the Lembuswana intersection to commemorate International Quds Day.
Participants expressed solidarity with Palestine and support for the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Speakers also conveyed condolences over the martyrdom of Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei and stressed that the struggle of the martyrs will never end.
“The United States and Israel thought that his martyrdom would mark the end of the history of resistance. But the resistance will continue,” one speaker declared.

Pontianak: Voices for Palestinian Freedom
In Pontianak, hundreds of participants gathered at the Digulis Monument to mark International Quds Day with a solidarity rally for Palestine.
Participants included social organizations, students, and humanitarian activists who came together to express support for the Palestinian struggle.
Speakers stressed that the Palestinian cause remains a struggle against ongoing colonial domination.
Participants also urged the international community not to turn a blind eye to the suffering of Palestinians living under blockade, repression, and Israeli military attacks.
Support for Iran’s New Leadership
In addition to expressing solidarity with Palestine, International Quds Day rallies across Indonesia also voiced support for the Islamic Republic of Iran following the martyrdom of Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei.
Participants expressed support for Iran’s new leadership and stressed that the resistance front across West Asia will remain strong in the face of U.S. and Israeli aggression.
For many participants, the struggles of Palestine, Iran, and the broader resistance front represent a unified front against global oppression.
They stressed that the martyrdom of resistance leaders does not mark the end of the struggle, but rather strengthens the determination to continue the fight until justice is achieved and Palestine is fully liberated. (PW)
