Indonesia Denies Claims of Presidential Visit to Israel After Gaza Peace Summit

Indonesia, PUREWILAYAH.COM — Indonesia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has officially denied reports claiming that President Prabowo Subianto would travel to Israel following his participation in the Gaza Peace Summit held in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.
The clarification came after several Israeli media outlets, including The Times of Israel and Channel 12, reported that Prabowo was scheduled to arrive in Israel on Tuesday, October 14, in what would be described as the first-ever official visit by an Indonesian head of state.
“That is not true. According to the original plan, the President will return to Indonesia after the summit in Egypt,” Sugiono said in a written statement conveyed through State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi on Monday, October 13, 2025.
Reports were further amplified on social media platforms, suggesting a potential diplomatic shift, which swiftly sparked public debate in Indonesia.
President Prabowo’s Attendance at Gaza Peace Summit
President Prabowo departed from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base in Jakarta early Monday and arrived in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, to attend the high-level peace summit focused on achieving a permanent ceasefire and supporting humanitarian efforts in Gaza, Palestine.
