In the Heart of Battle: The Last Photo of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah
Rare Image Captures The Late Hezbollah Leader in Operations Room Days Before His Assassination
Lebanon, PUREWILAYAH.COM – Al Mayadeen has released the last known photo of Hezbollah’s late Secretary-General, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, taken just days before his martyrdom in September 2024.
The rare image, captured inside a Resistance operations room, depicts the iconic leader alongside his comrades, underscoring his enduring presence on the battlefield until the very end.
The Last Image Before Martyrdom
The photo shows Sayyed Nasrallah seated with senior Hezbollah figures, including Martyr Mohammad Habib Khaireddine, widely known as Hajj Hassan, who served as Secretary of the Jihadist Council.
The timing of the image—taken only days before the Israeli assassination that claimed his life—imbues it with deep historical and symbolic weight.
Regional affairs expert Habib Fayyad noted that the photograph carries “profound political and sentimental connotations,” emphasizing that Sayyed Nasrallah deliberately chose to remain in the heart of the battlefield despite escalating risks.
A Testament to Leadership in Battle
Commenting on the photo’s significance, former Lebanese Communist Party leader Khaled Hadada said:
“Sayyed Hassan is the true leader, and this photo proves what we mean when we praise the leader in the heart of the battle and hazards.”
The image highlights Nasrallah’s fearless leadership style, portraying him not as a distant figure but as a commander who stood shoulder to shoulder with his comrades, even under imminent danger.
Martyrdom and Legacy
Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah was assassinated on September 27, 2024, in what Hezbollah described as a treacherous Israeli operation.
His long-time ally and successor in leadership, Sayyed Hashem Safieddine, was martyred less than a week later on October 3, 2024.
Together, their loss marked one of the most significant blows to the Lebanese Resistance in recent history. Yet, the newly released photo immortalizes Nasrallah’s final days as a leader steadfast in his mission—anchored in defiance, unity, and sacrifice. (PW)
