Important Message from Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi: No Retreat Against the Aggressor
In a five-point message, Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi says the war is not over, warns against retreat before the aggressor, and calls for steadfastness, unity, and justice for the martyrs.
Iran, PUREWILAYAH.COM – Grand Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi has stressed that any retreat before an aggressor only emboldens it to continue its aggression and pursue greater acts of hostility, urging the Iranian nation and the Islamic Ummah to remain steadfast following the martyrdom of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.
In a message issued on the occasion of the funeral of the Martyred Leader of the Ummah, Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi said that as the nation bids farewell to the pure body of the martyred Leader of the Revolution, the profound grief over the loss of that wise and devoted mujahid has once again been renewed.
He said the massive public participation in the funeral ceremonies is undoubtedly a manifestation of strength and loyalty to the lofty ideals of the Islamic Revolution, a sign of the steadfastness of the great Iranian nation and the Islamic Ummah, and a continuation of the luminous path of the martyrs.
He then outlined five important points that, he said, require special attention under the current circumstances.
First: The War Has Not Ended
It must not be assumed that this war has come to an end. Rather, the confrontation with the front of global arrogance continues. Therefore, any attempt to instill despair, weakness, a sense of deadlock, or to undermine the morale of the people, government officials, and the armed forces is in line with the enemy’s objectives and contrary to the interests of the country and the Islamic Ummah.
At the same time, hope and steadfastness should never be mistaken for ignoring the realities on the ground. Rather, patience and perseverance remain among the most important factors for achieving victory in divine trials.
Second: The Blood of the Martyrs Will Never Be Forgotten
The killers and perpetrators of this great crime, whose hands are stained with the blood of the beloved martyr, military commanders, government officials, defenseless civilians, and innocent children, will neither escape divine punishment nor just retribution.
These pure bloods will never be forgotten, and the Islamic Ummah will continue to fulfill its duty of seeking justice for these martyrs within the framework of Islamic law and legal principles.
Third: Stand Firm Against the Aggressor
Government officials, the armed forces, and all decision-makers must rely upon Almighty God, place their trust in His promises, make use of every capability available to the nation, and draw strength from the faith, patience, and steadfastness of the people.
With prudence, strength, and vigilance, they must stand firmly against the enemy in the military arena, in diplomacy, and in every other field.
Experience has shown that any retreat before an aggressor only emboldens it to continue its aggression and pursue even greater acts of hostility.
Fourth: Wilayat al-Faqih Is the Pillar of the Islamic System
The Islamic Revolution is founded upon the progressive principle of Wilayat al-Faqih. It is through this very principle that it has successfully passed through difficult trials and countless conspiracies orchestrated by its enemies.
Within the Islamic system, Wilayat al-Faqih is the axis of unity, the guardian of the Ummah’s interests, and a firm pillar of the Islamic establishment. Commitment to this principle is a collective duty and serves as a safeguard for both Islam and the country.
Fifth: National Unity Is More Essential Than Ever
Today, more than at any other time, preserving national unity and solidarity is an undeniable necessity.
Differences of opinion, even when they arise from sincere and well-intentioned motives, must not be allowed to become a source of division or weaken the country’s internal front.
At the same time, government officials must redouble their efforts to resolve the people’s difficulties and serve them with sincerity and dedication.
Condolences and Prayer
Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi concluded his message by once again extending his condolences over the painful martyrdom of the beloved Leader and the other martyrs of what he described as the imposed war.
He offered his condolences to Imam al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his reappearance), the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, the noble families of the martyrs, the honorable people of Iran, and Muslims throughout the world.
He prayed that Almighty God elevate the ranks of the martyrs and expressed hope that, under the blessings of Imam al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his reappearance), the honor and victory of Islam and the Muslims would soon be realized and that the evil of their enemies would be repelled. (PW)
