Imam Khamenei: U.S. Embassy a Command Center for Conspiracy, Not Diplomacy
Leader says documents revealed Washington’s regime-change operations against Iran since 1953
Iran, PUREWILAYAH.COM — On the eve of 13 Aban (4 November), Iran’s National Student Day and the anniversary of the takeover of the U.S. embassy in 1979, Ayatullah Sayyed Ali Khamenei addressed thousands of students at the Imam Khomeini Hussainiyah, stressing that the former American embassy in Tehran was never a diplomatic mission but a hub for conspiracy and subversion against the Islamic Republic.
“The U.S. embassy was not a diplomatic post — it was a center of conspiracy and planning to destroy the Revolution,” Imam Khamenei stated.
He explained that the students who entered the embassy initially intended only a short protest, but the discovery of classified documents revealed systematic efforts to organize remnants of the monarchy, military officers loyal to the Shah, and other elements to undermine the newly formed Islamic Republic.
“They found documents proving the embassy was coordinating counter-revolutionary forces,” he said. “This is why they stayed.”

Hostility Began Before the Revolution
Imam Khamenei emphasized that Washington’s hostility toward Iran predates the 1979 takeover and originated with the CIA-MI6 coup on 28 Mordad 1332 (19 August 1953) that toppled the national government of Dr. Mohammad Mosaddeq and restored the Shah to power.
“Our conflict with America is intrinsic. It began with the 1953 coup, not 13 Aban,” he said.
He described the embassy documents as a turning point that revealed the true nature of U.S. involvement in Iran and the world, exposing political manipulation, espionage, and interference in sovereign nations’ affairs.
America’s Record: Coercion, Plots, and Force
The Leader cited decades of American wrongdoing against Iran, including:
backing the Shah’s dictatorship for 25 years
instigating and supporting Saddam’s war against Iran
economic and political sanctions
downing Iran Air Flight 655, killing 300 civilians
propaganda and psychological operations
“America cannot tolerate an independent Iran that refuses its domination,” he added.
Strength, Not Submission
Imam Khamenei stressed that Iran’s path to immunity and stability lies in national strength — scientifically, militarily, and spiritually — insisting that surrender is not an option.
“Expecting the Iranian nation to surrender, with such a history and such youth, is meaningless,” he declared.
He said any U.S. request for cooperation will only be “reviewed in the distant future” if America fully abandons support for the Zionist regime, withdraws its military from the region, and ends interference.
Imam Khamenei asserted that the seizure of the U.S. embassy exposed Washington’s covert agenda and preserved Iran’s sovereignty, marking 13 Aban as a permanent symbol of vigilance and resistance against American arrogance. (PW)
