Hezbollah Secretary-General: Iran Will Triumph, the Resistance Is Strong and Enduring
Sheikh Qassem aaffirms the resilience of the Iranian people and Hezbollah’s commitment to the path of resistance despite immense regional and global pressures.
Lebanon, PUREWILAYAH.COM - With firm belief and faith that victory will belong to the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hezbollah’s Deputy Secretary-General, His Eminence Sheikh Naim Qassem, affirms that the dear Iranian people are strong, resilient, and proud—no one can defeat them.
Iran is guided by the courageous and determined leadership of the Supreme Leader, who insists on preserving the dignity and strength of the Islamic Republic. According to Sheikh Qassem, any aggression against Iran will come at a very high cost, as the entire region will be placed in jeopardy.
Regarding U.S. President Donald Trump’s threats to assassinate Grand Ayatollah Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei, Sheikh Qassem responds: “Trump’s threat to assassinate Imam Khamenei (may his shadow endure) is a vile act and simultaneously a sign of weakness.”
Hezbollah’s Legacy and Martyr Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah
In a special interview with Al-Ahed News on its anniversary as the voice of the resistance, Sheikh Qassem reflects transparently on a wide range of local and regional issues.
Martyr Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, the Master of the Martyrs of the Ummah, occupies a central place in this conversation. Sheikh Qassem speaks fondly of his comrade-in-arms of over 33 years, admitting he eagerly awaited his speeches just as the people did. He deeply misses him as a companion, leader, and burden-bearer during these critical times.
On Israeli Violations and the State’s Responsibility
Sheikh Qassem stresses that the Lebanese state bears full responsibility for protecting its citizens and territory, especially following the internationally-brokered ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and the Zionist entity.
He urges the government to use all its diplomatic tools and international relations, particularly with the U.S. and France, to pressure "Israel" to cease its aggression.
Hezbollah currently supports the state’s diplomatic track and is prepared to back any state decision to stop Israeli aggression and ensure their withdrawal. However, the resistance reserves the right to make its own decision at the appropriate time should diplomacy fail.
The Resistance Will Endure
With unwavering confidence, Sheikh Qassem assures that the Lebanese resistance remains and continues to rebuild itself.
Its vitality was demonstrated by the people who returned to their villages in the south, offered martyrs, and participated in the massive funeral processions of the two secretary-generals—an event acknowledged by observers worldwide. Hezbollah also continues to contribute effectively to state-building and institutional development.
Sheikh Qassem proudly reflects on the fierce battle dubbed “Olu al-Ba’s” fought by heroic mujahideen, during which the resistance stood firm and continued to carry the banner of resistance and liberation.
He warns of the dangers faced in both Gaza and Lebanon, where the Israeli enemy unleashed immense military power—supported by 600 American aircraft, over 100 warships loaded with tons of destructive weaponry, and boundless U.S. political and media backing.
Despite this overwhelming global aggression, Hezbollah’s fighters held their ground, reorganized leadership after martyrdoms, and halted Israeli advances in southern Lebanon. They achieved a ceasefire with their heads held high and capabilities intact.
A Promise to the Noblest People: Reconstruction Is a Top Priority
Sheikh Qassem pledges that reconstruction remains Hezbollah’s highest priority, not just for the resistance but for the future of the state. The party has already restored 400,000 homes and provided housing assistance to 50,000 families—duties which should have fallen on the state.
He emphasizes that this was done to prevent displacement and to deny "Israel" and its allies any opportunity to drive a wedge between the people and the resistance.
Now, the Lebanese state must take over and continue this vital mission despite internal and external challenges.
Sheikh Qassem supports the continued presence of UNIFIL in its mandated role but rejects any overreach or actions that disturb the residents.
He calls for a calm and responsible approach to any tensions and reiterates that Hezbollah seeks no confrontation with UNIFIL but insists on the respect of local sovereignty.
On Palestine: Netanyahu Has Achieved Nothing
On the Palestinian front, Sheikh Qassem asserts that Netanyahu’s government has failed to achieve any of its declared objectives, including eliminating Hamas or retrieving captives.
The legendary resilience of the Palestinian people in Gaza, their exceptional endurance in the face of Zionist-American criminality, and the continued operation of the resistance render Israel’s ambitions futile.
Reflections on the Resistance’s Historical Journey and the Role of Al-Ahed
Looking back on 41 years of Al-Ahed, Sheikh Qassem praises it as the first documented voice of Hezbollah, launching in 1984 before the party had any official spokesperson.
He describes how it served as the primary platform for conveying Hezbollah’s positions and was instrumental in developing the ideological consciousness of the resistance community.
Despite the hardships of its inception, Al-Ahed survived and thrived. Today, it remains a reliable and truthful channel reflecting the party’s vision.
Final Words
Sheikh Qassem ends with a congratulatory note to Al-Ahed on its 41st anniversary, urging it to continue its mission of truthful reporting and to embrace modern tools, including artificial intelligence, in line with the Qur’anic call for verification and discernment in the face of disinformation.
“O you who have believed, if there comes to you a disobedient one with information, investigate, lest you harm a people out of ignorance and become, over what you have done, regretful.” (Surah Al-Hujurat, 49:6)
“And do not pursue that of which you have no knowledge. Indeed, the hearing, the sight, and the heart – about all those [one] will be questioned.” (Surah Al-Isra, 17:36)
Al-Ahed is not a business or a temptation; it is a mission. And may it remain as such. (PW)
