Hezbollah MP: Resistance Is Non-Negotiable — Unity Is a National Necessity
Hassan Fadlallah affirms that resistance remains Lebanon’s only viable path to liberation and defense, rejecting negotiations that compromise sovereignty and warning against internal division
Lebanon, PUREWILAYAH.COM - Member of the Loyalty to the Resistance bloc, MP Hassan Fadlallah, stressed that “the resistance in Lebanon today is the national option with no alternative when it comes to liberating our land, defending our people, and protecting our country.”
He affirmed that the resistance will continue and will not retreat until the enemy is forced to withdraw from Lebanese territory and cease its aggression. He emphasized that the resistance will not accept—regardless of the sacrifices—a return to the pre-March 2 phase, describing this as a decisive and irreversible position.
Accordingly, he stated that any future agreement in Lebanon must guarantee an end to all forms of aggression against the country.
Sacrifice for the Nation, Not for Division
Fadlallah’s remarks were delivered during a commemorative ceremony held by Hezbollah in honor of martyrs of the Islamic Resistance in Beirut’s Bir Hassan area, attended by political, religious, and social figures, as well as families of the martyrs.
He noted that the burden of the current war is being borne by the resistance’s social base, the people, and the South—defending all of Lebanon. He called on internal actors to cease attacks, conspiracies, and incitement against the resistance, affirming that the resistance, backed by its people and martyrs, is fully capable of confronting the enemy and defending the nation.
“The battlefield is firm,” he said, “and we have men whose resolve will not be shaken—even if mountains crumble.”
Resistance Needs No Permission
Fadlallah rejected accusations that the resistance had dragged Lebanon into war without consultation, stating that such claims ignore months of continuous aggression by the enemy. He revealed that the resistance had repeatedly warned Lebanese authorities and international actors that patience has limits and that blood is not cheap.
“When there is occupation and aggression, resistance does not need permission,” he said. “Defending the land does not require national consensus.”
He emphasized that Lebanon has always been divided over the conflict with the Israeli enemy, noting that even as the South faces aggression, some internal voices continue to side with the enemy.
Rejection of Submission Through Negotiations
Fadlallah criticized factions within the Lebanese authority that have pursued direct negotiations with what he described as the “terrorist Israeli enemy,” accusing them of offering free concessions and placing Lebanon in a position of submission and humiliation.
“We told them not to pursue this path—it will not benefit you, and the enemy will give you nothing,” he said, noting that even a comprehensive ceasefire has not been achieved, while killing and destruction continue.
He made clear that the resistance does not recognize the outcomes of such negotiations and will not allow them to pass, warning that they deepen internal division and undermine national unity.
Call for National Unity Against External Pressure
Fadlallah called on the authorities to return to their people and to pursue genuine national understanding among all components of the state in order to confront the consequences of aggression with a unified stance—not submission.
He warned against “masked sedition” and political schemes aimed at pushing Lebanon toward collapse, stressing that those who surrender to the enemy are committing political and national suicide.
“The resistance,” he said, “is an act of heroism, sacrifice, and martyrdom—and it will emerge from this war victorious.”
Warning Against Sectarian Incitement
Fadlallah warned that those promoting sectarian and religious tensions bear responsibility for destabilizing the country, accusing certain political factions and media outlets of fueling hatred, incitement, and division.
He called on all who seek to preserve civil peace to restrain inflammatory rhetoric and media campaigns that target the dignity, symbols, and sacrifices of the resistance and its supporters.
He emphasized that incitement against the Shiite community—along with those from other sects who support the resistance—represents a broader campaign of defamation and division.
Resistance as a National Voice
Concluding his remarks, Fadlallah stressed that voices supporting the resistance across all sects represent a genuine national position aligned with truth and dignity.
He called on all responsible actors to act against incitement and misinformation targeting the resistance, affirming that the unity of Lebanon depends on rejecting division and standing firm against external aggression. (PW)
