Hezbollah Fighters Repel Israeli Advance in Strategic Nabatieh Axis
Resistance fighters repel Israeli advances near the Litani River as Hezbollah drones and rockets strike occupation forces across southern Lebanon
Lebanon, PUREWILAYAH.COM — Fierce battles erupted between Hezbollah resistance fighters and Israeli occupation forces along the strategic Zawtar axis in the Nabatieh region of southern Lebanon, as the Zionist regime intensified its attempts to push deeper into areas north of the Litani River.
According to field reports from Al-Manar and regional sources, Israeli forces launched repeated military movements toward Zawtar al-Sharqiya while Hezbollah fighters engaged them in heavy clashes involving machine guns, artillery shells, rockets, and suicide drones.
The strategic town of Zawtar al-Sharqiya has witnessed continuous confrontations since dawn amid what sources described as desperate Israeli attempts to seize control of the area.
Zawtar described as key gateway north of the Litani
Sources on the ground described Zawtar al-Sharqiya as one of the most strategically important defensive positions in southern Lebanon and the key access point to villages located north of the Litani River.
Reports indicated that heavy fighting is currently concentrated along the Litani River near Deir Siryan, where Israeli occupation forces are attempting to advance toward Zawtar al-Sharqiya from positions established across the river.
Despite intense bombardment and aerial attacks, Hezbollah fighters reportedly succeeded in halting Israeli advances and confining the clashes to the outskirts of the town and the riverbanks.
Hezbollah suicide drones strike Israeli military targets
The Islamic Resistance in Lebanon intensified its drone operations against Israeli military positions and armored vehicles during the confrontation.
According to Hezbollah statements, resistance fighters targeted an Israeli military Humvee with a drone strike along the Litani River route near Zawtar al-Sharqiya, setting the vehicle ablaze.
Hezbollah also announced attacks on gatherings of Israeli soldiers and military vehicles in the same area using rockets and mortar fire.
In another operation, the Resistance targeted an Israeli D9 military bulldozer and a military communications vehicle with suicide drones along the Litani axis.
Israeli media acknowledged that Hezbollah drones struck several military positions belonging to the occupation army.
Israeli forces suffer casualties amid repeated drone infiltrations
Hebrew media sources reported that at least three Hezbollah drones successfully penetrated military positions inside territories controlled by the Israeli occupation army.
Israeli reports also confirmed that three occupation soldiers were wounded following the explosion of a Hezbollah attack drone.
The Israeli military admitted that explosive drones launched from Lebanon struck areas around Netu’a in the western Galilee.
Simultaneously, sirens sounded repeatedly across northern occupied Palestine due to ongoing drone infiltrations from Lebanon.
Israeli media reported fires erupting after additional drones impacted military-controlled areas near the Lebanese border.
According to the Zionist regime’s Home Front Command, warning sirens were activated four separate times within a single hour in the western Galilee because of Hezbollah drone operations.
Netanyahu escalates aggression against Lebanon
The heavy clashes come as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered a further escalation against southern Lebanon while calling up additional reserve forces.
Israeli state media reported that the occupation army has launched a broad mobilization campaign aimed at expanding military operations inside Lebanese territory.
The regime reportedly ordered even recently discharged soldiers to immediately return to reserve service.
Israeli airstrikes continue amid widespread ceasefire violations
As clashes intensified on the ground, Israeli warplanes launched multiple airstrikes across Lebanon, including attacks near the Qaraoun Dam in the western Bekaa region and additional strikes targeting Yahmar al-Shaqif and Hadatha in southern Lebanon.
Lebanon’s Ministry of Health announced that at least 11 people were martyred in an Israeli airstrike targeting Mashghara, including two children and one woman, while 15 others were wounded.
The ministry stated that the casualty figures remain preliminary as rescue operations continue.
Lebanese medic martyred in Israeli strike
In another attack, Lebanon’s Ministry of Health confirmed that an Israeli strike targeting a relief center in the town of Srifa in southern Lebanon resulted in the martyrdom of one medic and the injury of two others.
The continued attacks come amid growing regional condemnation of Israel’s repeated violations of the Lebanon ceasefire agreement and the ongoing assault against civilians and humanitarian workers in southern Lebanon. (PW)
