Hezbollah Chief: Iran Turned Hope Into Reality, Forced Halt to Israeli Attacks on Lebanon

In a letter to Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Sheikh Naim Qassem says Iran transformed the only effective hope of ending Israeli aggression against Lebanon into a reality.

Lebanon, PUREWILAYAH.COM – Hezbollah Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem has expressed profound gratitude to the Islamic Republic of Iran for securing an immediate and permanent halt to Israeli military operations against Lebanon as part of the Memorandum of Understanding reached between Iran and the United States.

In a letter addressed to Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf on June 16, Sheikh Qassem said the agreement’s foremost provision was the linkage between ending the war on Iran and ending Israeli attacks on Lebanon.

“We are unable to adequately express our immense gratitude for your strong and supportive positions toward Lebanon, its people, and its Resistance in compelling the Israeli entity to immediately and permanently halt military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon,” he wrote.

According to Sheikh Qassem, Iran transformed “the only effective and genuine glimmer of hope” for ending US-Israeli aggression against Lebanon into a tangible reality.

“This has proven to the world that Iran stands with truth, Resistance, and the oppressed,” he stated.

“Iran Is an Icon of Dignity and Honor”

The Hezbollah leader said Iran’s support for Lebanon and the Resistance has never been motivated by self-interest.

“We have always said that Iran gave everything to Hezbollah, the Resistance, and the people of Lebanon, and took nothing from them in return,” he wrote.

Sheikh Qassem said Iran had supported Lebanon’s independent choices, strengthened the Resistance’s capabilities, assisted communities affected by war, and continued standing by Lebanon during difficult times.

He also highlighted Iran’s direct confrontation with Israel during the recent conflict.

“Now Iran is giving blood. It confronts the Zionist entity by striking it in response to its attacks on Beirut’s Southern Suburb and bears the consequences that threaten war against it, alongside tremendous sacrifices.”

In one of the letter’s strongest passages, Sheikh Qassem declared:

“I say it openly and loudly: Iran is an icon of dignity and honor.”

Sheikh Qassem thanked Ghalibaf in his role as chief negotiator and asked him to convey his gratitude to Iranian Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Mojtaba Khamenei, whom he credited with providing continuous care and support to the Resistance.

He also expressed appreciation to President Masoud Pezeshkian, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), the Iranian Armed Forces, and all official and popular institutions that contributed to supporting the Resistance.

The Hezbollah Secretary-General reserved special praise for the Iranian people.

“I would especially like to mention the great Iranian people. We saw them in the squares of Iranian cities and heard their calls expressing their readiness to sacrifice their lives to save the Resistance and its people.”

He further thanked the martyrs, the wounded, and prisoners, specifically mentioning Martyr Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.

“On behalf of Hezbollah and its Islamic Resistance, on behalf of the loving people of Lebanon, and on behalf of the martyrs, foremost among them Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, we offer our deepest thanks.”

Iran Warns Israel Against Further Violations

The letter came amid continued Israeli attacks on southern Lebanon despite the ceasefire provisions included in the Iran-US agreement.

Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters warned that if Israeli forces continue their attacks, they will face a severe response from the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The command stated that Israeli forces had violated the ceasefire 84 times during the two days following the announcement of the end of the war.

Meanwhile, Al Mayadeen’s correspondent in southern Lebanon reported that four Lebanese civilians were martyred and several others wounded in Israeli attacks targeting the towns of Mayfadoun and Shoukin in the Nabatieh district.

The developments come as Israeli Channel 13 acknowledged a major regional shift, describing Iran as the most important power in West Asia following the recent agreement and its aftermath.

Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you.

Words fall short of expressing our profound gratitude for your strong and steadfast positions in support of Lebanon, its people, and its Resistance, and for your efforts to compel the Israeli entity to immediately and permanently cease its military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon, by linking such a halt to the end of the war against the Islamic Republic of Iran as the first and fundamental provision of the agreement between Iran and the United States.

You transformed the only effective ray of hope capable of restraining the Israeli-American aggression against Lebanon into a reality that proved to the world that Iran stands as a supporter of truth, the Resistance, and the oppressed. Had others followed its path, the United States and Israel would never have become so arrogant, nor would the Zionist occupation still be entrenched on the land of Palestine and Al-Quds.

We have always said that Iran has given Hezbollah, the Resistance, and the people of Lebanon everything, while taking nothing in return. It supported us in our choices and strengthened us so that we could liberate our land, heal the wounds of our society, and assist our people. Today, Iran is giving its blood as it confronts the Zionist entity by striking it in response to its attacks on Beirut’s southern suburbs, while bearing the consequences that threaten to escalate into war against Iran itself and entail immense sacrifices. I say this openly and unequivocally: Iran is an icon of dignity and honor.

On behalf of Hezbollah and its Islamic Resistance, on behalf of the loving people of Lebanon who wish for us to convey their gratitude to you, and on behalf of the martyrs—foremost among them the Master of the Martyrs of the Ummah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah (may Allah be pleased with him)—as well as the wounded and the prisoners, I thank you in your capacity as the chief negotiator, together with your direct team, including Foreign Minister Dr. Abbas Araghchi.
