Hamdan: The Coming Phase Will Reveal the Strength of Hamas’ Organizational Structure
Senior Hamas leader rejects claims of internal divisions over October 7, affirms unity, right to resistance, and warns Israel’s ceasefire violations will not go unanswered
Palestine, PUREWILAYAH.COM — Senior leader of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), Osama Hamdan, affirmed the movement’s cohesion and its ability to continue defending the Palestinian people and their national rights, firmly denying any internal disagreements over the decision of 7 October.
In a press statement issued on Sunday, Hamdan said the next phase will clearly demonstrate the depth of the movement’s strength and the solidity of its organizational structure, stressing that “there is not a single leader within Hamas who opposes the decision of October 7—neither secretly nor publicly.” He described claims of internal rifts as “pure fabrication that serves the occupation’s narrative.”
Resistance Is a Popular, Deep-Rooted Palestinian Choice
Hamdan explained that the decision of resistance is not exclusive to Hamas, but rather a deeply rooted Palestinian popular choice that predates the movement and will continue after it. He emphasized that the Palestinian people have been resisting for nearly a century.
Attempts to link Israeli crimes to the resistance, he said, fall within occupation propaganda aimed at imposing a culture of submission and surrender.
Occupation Targets All Palestinians Without Distinction
Hamdan stressed that the Israeli occupation does not differentiate between Palestinian factions. Instead, it treats all Palestinians as enemies—in Gaza, the West Bank, and Al-Quds alike.
He added that all so-called “settlement” or “peace” agreements have failed to protect Palestinians from land confiscation, Judaization, killings, and systematic aggression.
Israel’s Daily Ceasefire Violations
Regarding the ceasefire agreement, Hamdan said Israel continues to violate it on a daily basis, resulting in the martyrdom of more than 400 Palestinians since the agreement came into effect, most of them women and children.
He further noted Israel’s obstruction of medical and humanitarian aid and its deliberate disruption of infrastructure rehabilitation efforts.
Hamdan affirmed that Hamas retains its full right to respond to these violations, warning that the collapse of the agreement would undermine the credibility of all future international guarantees, not only in Palestine but globally.
Hamdan said Hamas is maintaining continuous contact with mediators in Qatar, Egypt, and Türkiye to initiate negotiations for the second phase of the agreement. However, he states that Israel deliberately seeking to derail the entire process.
He called on the United States, as the primary guarantor, to assume responsibility and compel Israel to comply.
International Force: Clear Red Lines
On proposals to deploy an international force in Gaza, Hamdan clarified that Palestinian factions would only accept a force whose sole mandate is to guarantee the ceasefire and prevent renewed aggression, stationed on the borders of the Strip.
He stressed that such a force must have no internal authority, no interaction with civilians, and no role whatsoever in addressing or disarming the resistance.
Hamdan warned that any force attempting to disarm the resistance by force would be treated as an occupying force, reiterating the Palestinian people’s rejection of any alternative or proxy occupation.
Martyrdom of Qassam Commander Raed Saad and National Unity
Commenting on the assassination of Raed Saad, a commander in the Al-Qassam Brigades, Hamdan said the martyr devoted his life to the Palestinian cause and the defense of land and people.
He emphasized that Saad’s martyrdom does not signify weakness or retreat, but rather the continuation of a path carried forward by generations raised in the same school of resistance.
Hamdan reiterated that while Hamas honors the agreements it signs, it will not accept the continuation of Israeli violations without response.
On the internal Palestinian front, Hamdan said there is broad national desire to end division and achieve unity, stressing that the occupation is the only party opposing Palestinian unity, fully aware that unity constitutes a barrier to its colonial project.
He pointed to recent efforts in Cairo, with Egyptian support, to bring Palestinian factions together, affirming that Hamas continues to extend its hand to all forces, including Fatah, on the basis of a shared national program.
Call to Jews Worldwide and International Accountability
Addressing the international repercussions of Israeli crimes, Hamdan called on Jews around the world to take a clear stance declaring that Israel does not represent them, and that its Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is leading a “Nazi-terrorist project.”
He placed responsibility squarely on the international community for its silence in the face of the genocide being committed in Gaza, warning that history will judge those who enabled or ignored these crimes. (PW)
