Hamdan: Resistance Weapons Not Negotiated in Sharm el-Sheikh
Hamas official affirms that Egypt’s Arab-Islamic framework is the only acceptable model for administering Gaza and rejects all US attempts to impose alternative arrangements
Palestine, PUREWILAYAH.COM - Senior Hamas official Osama Hamdan rejected the “US draft resolution proposing the deployment of a multinational force in Gaza as part of President Donald Trump’s plan to stop the war,” stressing that it “intersects with the occupation’s schemes aimed at liquidating the Palestinian cause.”
Speaking on Monday evening, Hamdan said the proposal “does not aim to protect the Palestinian people from genocide but seeks to establish a force that replaces the occupation in the Strip.”
He affirmed that the plan “destroys any prospect of establishing a Palestinian state and reinforces the Palestinian conviction that resistance is the path to ending the occupation.”
He added, “We cannot accept a formula that forces us to choose between being killed or surrendering,” noting that the US project “contradicts international charters and resolutions and ignores the fact that the occupation is the root of the problem.”
Hamdan said its approval “would set a dangerous precedent, demonstrating the dominance of the language of force over international legitimacy.”
Hamdan emphasized that “the Arab-Islamic model presented by Egypt is the most suitable framework for administering the Gaza Strip,” stressing that “the issue of resistance weapons was never on the negotiating table in Sharm el-Sheikh.” (PW)
