Hamas Warns of Worsening Humanitarian Situation in the Gaza Strip
The movement stressed that the catastrophic conditions of the displaced highlight the urgent and immediate need for aid delivery and the provision of shelter
Palestine, PUREWILAYAH.COM - The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) has warned of the worsening humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip and called on Arab countries and the United Nations to take immediate action to deliver urgent assistance.
Hamas stated that amid the weather changes and declining temperatures affecting the Gaza Strip, the humanitarian crisis facing hundreds of thousands of displaced people has intensified.
In its statement, Hamas said that rainwater has flooded the tents of displaced families, turning the camps into pools of water and mud.
Hamas added that thousands of displaced families, in the midst of cold weather, have no shelter—reflecting the growing suffering of our people in the besieged Gaza Strip.
The movement stressed that the catastrophic conditions of the displaced highlight the urgent and immediate need for aid delivery and the provision of shelter, while the occupiers continue to delay and obstruct the entry of relief supplies, tents, and prefabricated homes.
Hamas continued by saying: we call on the guarantors of the ceasefire agreement, as well as the United Nations, the Arab League, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, to act immediately to deliver aid to the Gaza Strip. (PW)
