Hamas: U.S.-Run Aid System a Deadly Trap to Enforce Israeli Control
Hamas warns the new aid distribution system undermines the UN, endangers civilians, and serves as a tool for military domination under the guise of humanitarian assistance
Palestine, PUREWILAYAH.COM - The Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, has condemned the newly implemented aid distribution mechanism in the Gaza Strip, calling it a “trap” that endangers civilian lives and serves to impose Israeli security control over the besieged territory under the cover of humanitarian aid.
In a statement issued Tuesday and received by the Palestinian Information Center, Hamas asserted that the plan is designed to marginalize the role of the United Nations and its agencies.
The movement said the system aims to advance Israeli political and military objectives, exercising control over civilians rather than genuinely helping them — a move that constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law.
Deadly Consequences Underscore Mechanism's Failure
Hamas pointed to the chaotic scenes in which thousands of Palestinians rushed into the center designated for implementing the Israeli aid mechanism.
This stampede, the statement said, was followed by Israeli occupation forces opening fire with live ammunition on civilians desperately gathering at the distribution point due to hunger and siege.
“These scenes leave no doubt about the failure of this suspicious mechanism,” the statement emphasized.
“Safe Distribution Zones” Branded as Coercive and Exploitative
The movement also denounced what it described as so-called “safe distribution zones” established in buffer areas, saying they are merely coercive models of weaponized “humanitarian corridors.”
According to Hamas, these zones are used to deliberately humiliate victims and turn aid into a tool of blackmail within a systematic plan of starvation and subjugation.
This, the statement added, comes amid the continued blanket ban on aid entry through official border crossings — a clear violation of international legitimacy.
Urgent Call for International Intervention
Hamas called on the international community, the United Nations, and Arab and Islamic countries to urgently act against this dangerous scheme. The group urged immediate pressure on the Israeli occupation to open the crossings and allow humanitarian aid to be delivered through internationally recognized UN channels and relief institutions.
Death and Injury at U.S. Aid Point in Rafah
The statement concluded by referencing the deadly incident near the American aid distribution site in Rafah, southern Gaza, where Israeli occupation forces fired live bullets and tank shells at civilians. The attack resulted in the martyrdom of three Palestinians and left 46 others wounded. (PW)
