Hamas: United States a Full Partner in Israel’s Crimes in Gaza
The Movement condemns Washington’s obstruction at the UN, warns of famine and massacres against civilians
Palestine, PUREWILAYAH.COM — The Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, stated on Wednesday evening that the statement issued by members of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), with the exception of the United States, constitutes an important international step reflecting a broad consensus in condemning the genocide and starvation warfare waged by the Israeli occupation against more than two million besieged Palestinians in Gaza.
U.S. Accused of Obstructing Binding UN Decisions
In an official statement received by the Palestinian Information Center, Hamas stressed that the continued American position blocking the issuance of binding resolutions makes Washington a “full partner in humanitarian crimes” and directly responsible for the famine and massacres targeting Palestinian civilians, especially children.
The movement called on the UN Security Council to take immediate and practical steps to deter the Netanyahu government, compel it to end the brutal war that has been ongoing for more than 23 months, and hold Israeli leaders accountable for their crimes against humanity.
Hamas affirmed that the Security Council members’ statement underscores the urgent need for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire in Gaza and emphasizes that the use of starvation as a weapon of war is prohibited under international law. This stance comes amid the catastrophic humanitarian situation and its deadly impact on innocent civilians.
Senior Hamas Official: Statement Highlights U.S. Obstruction
In parallel remarks, Bassem Naim, a member of Hamas’ political bureau, said that the declaration by the 14 Security Council member states — excluding the United States — calling for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza represents a significant international position at a critical time.
Naim added that the statement “clearly identifies the party obstructing the implementation of the international decision and providing cover for the continuation of Israeli crimes against Palestinian civilians.”
He stressed that the U.S. administration, led by President Donald Trump, bears direct responsibility for obstructing the decision and for the continuation of genocide and ethnic cleansing in the Strip.
He underlined that the international community must pressure all parties to stop the aggression immediately, save civilians from imminent danger, and work to ensure respect for international humanitarian law.
UN Security Council Members Call for Unconditional Ceasefire
On Wednesday evening, Security Council members — with the exception of the United States — reaffirmed the necessity of an immediate, unconditional ceasefire and the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid to save lives and alleviate the worsening humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza.
The members warned that the humanitarian situation in the enclave had reached a critical stage, cautioning against the use of starvation as a weapon of war, which is prohibited under international law. They noted that more than 41,000 children are at risk of death due to severe acute malnutrition.
