Hamas Slams Netanyahu’s ‘Greater Israel’ Remarks as “Madness and Delirium”
Palestinian movement urges Arab and Muslim states to sever ties with Israel after Netanyahu calls ‘Greater Israel’ a historic and spiritual mission.

Gaza, PUREWILAYAH.COM — Hamas has strongly condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over his recent comments promoting the idea of a so-called “Greater Israel,” describing them as the product of “madness and delirium.”
In a statement released on Wednesday, the Palestinian resistance movement said Netanyahu’s remarks reveal the extremist and expansionist mindset driving Israel’s ongoing war in Gaza and its broader regional ambitions. Hamas accused the Israeli premier of committing genocide and using starvation as a weapon against the Palestinian people.
The condemnation came after Netanyahu declared that pursuing “Greater Israel” was both a “historical” and “spiritual” mission, a vision that historically encompasses territory beyond current Israeli borders, including parts of Egypt, Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon.
Hamas called on Arab and Muslim countries to take urgent measures in response, including severing diplomatic ties, recalling ambassadors, ending normalisation with Israel, and strengthening collective resistance efforts—particularly in support of Gaza.
The Arab League also denounced Netanyahu’s comments, describing them as a direct threat to Arab sovereignty, a violation of international law, and a provocation that could destabilise the region.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman, Esmaeil Baghaei, condemned the statements as evidence of “fascist intent,” calling the “Greater Israel” project a “diabolical idea” that must be firmly opposed by the international community. (PW)
