Hamas Rejects Accusations of Killing Soldiers, Israel Fully Accountable for Any Ceasefire Breakdown
Hamas confirmed that, from the very first day of the truce, Israeli forces carried out aggressive actions and continued operations against civilians. These violations have been fully documented.
Palestine, PUREWILAYAH.COM - The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) declared in an official statement that it has fully and precisely abided by the ceasefire terms since their implementation. The movement stressed that mediators have not presented any evidence indicating a breach by Hamas.
Hamas confirmed that, from the very first day of the truce, Israeli forces carried out aggressive actions and continued operations against civilians. These violations have been fully documented with supporting material and submitted to international mediators.
The movement warned that any collapse of the ceasefire rests solely with the Israeli occupation, which has repeatedly acted outside the agreed framework.
Israeli Strikes on Rafah After False Accusation of Ceasefire Breach
Despite the ceasefire, Israeli forces launched heavy air and artillery strikes on Rafah in southern Gaza, citing claims of resistance activity.
Hamas firmly rejected any connection to those confrontations, reiterating its commitment to the truce.
Earlier on Sunday, the spokesman for the Israeli occupation army announced the death of two soldiers and the severe injury of three others during what was described as a “security incident” in the city of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip.
The spokesman identified the soldiers as:
Major Yaniv Kola, 26, company commander in Battalion 932 of the Nahal Brigade.
Sergeant Itay Yavitz, 21, serving in the Erez Project within the same battalion.
The military stated that the incident occurred during an engagement in southern Gaza, with three additional soldiers sustaining serious wounds.
Al-Qassam Brigades: No Presence or Contact in Rafah
The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, issued a separate statement reaffirming adherence to all terms of the ceasefire across all regions of Gaza.
The Brigades clarified:
“We have no knowledge of any events or confrontations in the Rafah area, which remains under full occupation control.”
They noted that communication with remaining groups in Rafah was lost following the resumption of hostilities in March of this year:
“We do not know whether they were martyred or remain alive since that time.”
Al-Qassam concluded:
“We have no ties to any incidents occurring in those areas, nor the ability to contact any of our fighters there, if any still survive.”
Earlier in the day, Israeli Army Radio cited a military source confirming a “serious confrontation” in Rafah, southern Gaza. (PW)
