Hamas Leader to All Palestinians: Rise Up Against Those Who Starved Gaza
It is time to cast aside helplessness and abandon cowardice! Let a volcano of anger erupt against the enemies of this people and this nation — against those who have burned childhood, motherhood......
Palestine, PUREWILAYAH.COM - Senior Hamas leader Abdul Rahman Shadid has issued a passionate call to all Palestinians across the homeland and in exile to rise up and retaliate against those responsible for starving Gaza and depriving its children of food and medicine.
Shadid emphasized that the Palestinian people were not created to watch their brothers and sisters die of hunger in silence and inaction.
“It is time to cast aside helplessness and abandon cowardice,” he said.
“Let a volcano of anger erupt against the enemies of this people and this nation — against those who have burned childhood, motherhood, and humanity in the fascism of our time.”
Popular Protests Erupt Across West Bank and Jerusalem
In tandem with Shadid’s remarks, popular movements and grassroots activists launched widespread calls for massive public demonstrations across cities in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem, in solidarity with the people of Gaza who are enduring ongoing aggression and a suffocating blockade.
The mass rallies are scheduled to begin Saturday evening, immediately after Maghrib prayers, starting from mosques and public squares in cities including Jerusalem, Hebron, Qalqilya, Jericho, Salfit, Tubas, Bethlehem, Nablus, Jenin, Tulkarm, Ramallah, and al-Bireh.
Organizers stressed the importance of mass participation to reject Israel’s systematic starvation policy and to raise the collective voice against the ongoing crimes committed against over two million Palestinians in the besieged Strip.
Gaza on the Brink of Humanitarian Collapse
The calls to mobilize come amid mounting warnings of an imminent humanitarian disaster in the Gaza Strip. Residents are enduring catastrophic conditions marked by a complete lack of food, water, and medicine, under the weight of relentless Israeli bombardment and siege.
Organizers of the demonstrations are holding the Israeli occupation fully responsible for the deepening humanitarian crisis, describing it as a crime against humanity that grows more dire each day.
Palestinian Unity as a Response to Israeli Crimes
The calls for protest also reaffirmed that a unified stance among Palestinians across all parts of historic Palestine is the most powerful response to Israel’s efforts to impose new realities through starvation, siege, and destruction.
The people, the statement affirmed, will not remain silent in the face of mass killings, enforced hunger, and the targeting of civilians. The voices rising from every street and mosque, they said, will send a clear message: Gaza is not alone, and the Palestinian people will resist together. (PW)
