Hamas Condemns Zambia and Congo Reception of Herzog, Calling It Complicity in Genocide
Hosting Herzog — a war criminal whose hands are stained with the blood of innocent children, women, and the elderly — constitutes active participation in whitewashing the crimes of the Zionist
Palestine, PUREWILAYAH.COM — The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas has denounced the upcoming visit of Israeli President Isaac Herzog to Zambia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, describing it as a Zionist attempt to infiltrate Africa’s long-standing pro-Palestinian position and undermine its legacy of resistance to colonialism.
In a statement released on Sunday and received by the Palestinian Information Center, Hamas declared that hosting Herzog — “a war criminal whose hands are stained with the blood of innocent children, women, and the elderly” — constitutes active participation in whitewashing the crimes of the Zionist occupation.
The movement asserted that Herzog’s reception represents normalization with the ongoing genocide perpetrated by the Israeli occupation in Gaza, where thousands of civilians have been massacred and entire neighborhoods erased under U.S.-backed bombardment.
Call on African Nations to Resist Zionist Infiltration
Hamas urged all nations, particularly those in Africa, to strengthen their boycott of the Israeli regime and its leaders, and to reject any form of relations with the occupation.
The statement emphasized Africa’s historic role in opposing oppression and colonialism, recalling that the continent once stood as a beacon of solidarity for the Palestinian cause.
“The Israeli occupation represents the ugliest form of colonialism, tyranny, and barbarism known to modern history,” Hamas declared, stressing that normalization with Tel Aviv equates to betrayal of African liberation values and complicity in ongoing crimes against humanity.
Herzog’s Africa Trip Amid Gaza Atrocities
Israeli President Isaac Herzog is scheduled to travel on Monday to Zambia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo for official visits, marking the first time an Israeli president has visited Zambia.
His tour comes as Gaza remains under siege, with tens of thousands killed, infrastructure destroyed, and the international community — led by Washington — accused of shielding Israel from accountability at the International Criminal Court (ICC). (PW)
