GAZA CITY — Head of the Hamas Political Bureau, Khalil al-Hayya, has extended his deepest condolences to the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Gaza following a recent Zionist airstrike that tragically killed two Palestinian Christian women in Gaza City.
In a formal message addressed to Archbishop Alexios on Sunday, al-Hayya expressed unwavering solidarity with the bereaved families and the entire Christian community across Gaza and Palestine. The victims were identified as Maysa Abu Dawoud and her daughter, Mary an-Najjar, who endured the brutal siege and devastating conditions alongside their compatriots before losing their lives to the ongoing aggression.
“Your grief and pain are ours. Palestinians are one people, bound together by a shared land and common destiny,” al-Hayya stated, emphasising that Palestinian Christians remain an inseparable and integral part of the Palestinian people, their identity, and their civilisation.
The resistance leader highlighted that all segments of Palestinian society, regardless of their faith, remain steadfastly committed to their land, their inalienable rights, and their collective aspirations for freedom and dignity against the occupying forces.
Al-Hayya concluded his message by praying that Almighty Allah grant the victims’ families strength and solace, protect the resilient people of Gaza and Palestine, lift the ongoing ordeal from them, and ultimately bless them with lasting security, freedom, and peace.
