Ghalibaf: We Will Not Show the Slightest Negligence in Defending the Country
Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf vows unwavering defense of Iran as the nation prepares to honor commanders and martyrs killed in the U.S.–Zionist imposed war.
Iran, PUREWILAYAH.COM – Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, declared that Iran will never show even the slightest negligence in defending the nation, as the country prepares to hold a large funeral procession for commanders and citizens martyred in the U.S.–Zionist imposed war.
In a message issued ahead of the funeral ceremony scheduled for Wednesday, March 11, in Tehran, Ghalibaf emphasized that the Iranian leadership and state institutions remain fully committed to protecting the country and confronting aggression.
He stressed that serving the Iranian people and cutting off the hands of aggressors is the minimum duty owed to the nation for its steadfast presence and historic support.
Funeral for Senior Commanders and Martyrs
The ceremony will commemorate a number of prominent military commanders and citizens who were martyred during the recent aggression, including:
Lieutenant General Martyr Seyyed Abdolrahim Mousavi
Lieutenant General Martyr Mohammad Pakpour
Admiral Martyr Ali Shamkhani
Major General Martyr Aziz Nasirzadeh
Major General Basij Commander Martyr Mohammad Shirazi
According to Ghalibaf, these commanders devoted their entire lives to defending Iran and confronting hostile forces ranging from the former Ba’athist regime to terrorist groups, traitors, takfiri movements, the Zionist regime, and what he described as the “criminal United States.”
He said martyrdom was the natural culmination of their lifelong struggle against aggression and domination.
Iran’s Resistance Against Aggression
Ghalibaf stated that the “children of war and the battlefield” have always defined their mission as permanently cutting off the hands of oppression and aggression from Iran’s land, identity, and sovereignty.
He described the martyrs as defenders of the Islamic Republic who stood firm against the ambitions of hostile powers seeking to dominate the region and undermine Iran’s independence.
“The hands of the aggressors who dream of devouring Iran must be cut off,” he said, referencing statements from Iran’s martyred leadership warning against foreign domination.
Iranian Nation’s Historic Loyalty
The speaker praised the Iranian people for their continuous presence in the streets since the beginning of the American–Zionist imposed war, describing it as a historic pledge of allegiance to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatullah Sayyed Mojtaba Khamenei.
He noted that repeated attacks by hostile forces have failed to weaken the determination of the Iranian nation.
According to Ghalibaf, millions of Iranians will escort the martyrs while chanting the name of Imam Ali and reaffirming their commitment to resistance.
He added that the prayers of Imam Mahdi, referred to as the protector of the nation, will safeguard the Iranian people.
“No Hesitation in Defending Iran”
In his message, Ghalibaf concluded by reaffirming that the Iranian government and parliament will continue their tireless service to the nation.
“Serving the people day and night and cutting off the hands of aggressors who dream of swallowing Iran is the least we can do in gratitude for this conscious presence,” he said.
“We will not show even the slightest delay or negligence in achieving this goal.”
He ended his message with a Quranic verse:
