Ghalibaf: We Had Plans for All Scenarios, Including the Martyrdom of Our Dear Leader
Iran’s parliament speaker says system prepared for imposed war, warns U.S. and Israel after crossing red lines, vows continuity of resistance
Iran, PUREWILAYAH.COM - Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of Iran’s Islamic Consultative Assembly, said the Islamic Republic had long prepared for all possible scenarios, including the martyrdom of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, stressing that the country’s political, security, and administrative structures remain fully functional.
“We had plans for all scenarios,” Ghalibaf said in a televised message. “We were prepared even for the period after the martyrdom of our dear Leader.”
He emphasized that Iran’s system has been deliberately structured to ensure continuity under extreme pressure, adding that the country’s governance has moved beyond dependence on any single individual.
“You Crossed Our Red Line and Must Pay the Price”
Addressing U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu directly, Ghalibaf issued a stark warning, saying both had crossed Iran’s red lines.
“I say this clearly and emphasize it: you have crossed our red line, and you must pay the price,” he said.
Ghalibaf described the current confrontation as existential, stating that accumulated national anger had reached a decisive moment.
“This is an existential war for us,” he said. “It is a suppressed rage whose time for retaliation has now arrived.”
He warned that Iran’s response would be severe, adding: “We will strike you with devastating blows that will drive you to desperation.”
Leadership Beyond Individuals
Ghalibaf said the continuation of the Islamic Republic does not hinge on the presence of a single leader, but on institutional depth and ideological continuity.
“We will continue the path of the Great Imam and our Martyred Imam with uprightness,” he said.
He described Imam Khamenei as a defining spiritual and political figure of the modern era, but stressed that the Revolution’s endurance lies in collective leadership and popular legitimacy rather than individual authority.
Qur’anic Reference and Historical Continuity
Drawing on Islamic history, Ghalibaf referenced the Battle of Uhud and a Qur’anic verse that he said offers guidance for the current moment.
“Our master was great, but he was not comparable to the Noble Prophet of Islam,” he said. “When rumors of the Prophet’s martyrdom spread at Uhud and caused fear among the believers, revelation descended with a lesson that is vital for us today.”
He cited Surah Aal-e Imran, verse 144, and said Iran’s response mirrors the Qur’anic message: steadfastness, not retreat.
“God forbid,” he said, “we will continue the path of our Great Imam and our Martyred Imam with dignity and resolve.”
System No Longer Individual-Centered
According to Ghalibaf, Iran’s management and command structures have evolved beyond individual-centered leadership, enabling sustained and coordinated action even under direct attack.
“The country’s structure is no longer person-centered,” he said. “No one could have imagined this scale of successful operations against the Zionist regime without such transformation.”
He added that this shift has strengthened Iran’s ability to absorb shocks while maintaining operational effectiveness.
Personal Reflection on Loss and Resolve
Reflecting on past assassinations, Ghalibaf recalled the martyrdom of General Qassem Soleimani.
“When Haj Qassem was martyred, I thought I was living through the bitterest days of my life,” he said. “I felt the world had come to an end. I never imagined I would face days more bitter than that.”
Despite the severity of the current moment, Ghalibaf said such losses have historically deepened national resolve rather than weakened it.
Independence as the Central Target
Ghalibaf said Iran’s enemies oppose the Islamic Republic primarily because it has preserved national independence.
“They are enemies of Iran,” he said. “If they oppose the Islamic Republic, it is because it has safeguarded the country’s independence.”
He urged vigilance against internal division, warning that playing into enemy strategies would only serve external agendas.
Ghalibaf concluded by asserting that Iran will not allow itself to be swallowed by external powers, nor permit the hopes of millions of free people to be extinguished.
He said the Islamic Republic would pass through the current decisive phase with authority and resilience, making clear that pressure, intimidation, and assassination have failed to alter Iran’s course. (PW)
