Parliament speaker warns Washington as millions rally in Tehran against foreign interference and violence
Iran | PUREWILAYAH.COM — Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf warned U.S. President Donald Trump that any aggression against Iran would be met with a decisive and painful response, declaring that the Iranian nation stands united against foreign intervention and terrorism.
Addressing massive crowds in Tehran that gathered in support of Iran’s leadership and to condemn violence and unrest, Ghalibaf said that 90 million Iranians from all backgrounds are standing as one against external interference.
“90 million Iranians from different components stand united in the face of foreign intervention,” he said.
“We Are the Nation of Imam Hussein”
Directly addressing Trump, Ghalibaf issued a blunt warning to the United States.
“We are the nation of Imam Hussein,” he said. “Come and see what will happen to American bases, ships, and forces in the region.”
Ghalibaf stressed that the violence witnessed in recent days was not spontaneous, describing it as revenge against the Iranian people in all their diversity, carried out as part of a terrorist war waged by Iran’s enemies.
“We are facing a terrorist war by the enemies of the Iranian people, and therefore our response will certainly be decisive and painful,” he warned.
Iranian People Foiled the Conspiracy
Ghalibaf emphasized that it was the Iranian people themselves who neutralized the conspiracy targeting the country, pointing to the nationwide public presence that filled the streets.
“The people are the ones who foiled this plot against Iran,” he said, noting that the massive turnout demonstrated public vigilance and confirmed that security conditions are now under the control of Iran’s security forces.
He added that the Iranian nation has never allowed the enemy to achieve its objectives, crediting public awareness and unity for repeatedly defeating hostile schemes.
Enemy’s Problem Is a Strong and Independent Iran
Placing the events in a broader context, Ghalibaf stated that the real issue for Iran’s enemies—particularly the United States and the Zionist regime—is Iran’s strength and independence.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran today is powerful, strong, and independent,” he said, adding that the Zionist regime does not tolerate the rise of any strong Islamic country.
Ghalibaf noted that Iran is confronting a multi-front war, including economic, psychological, intellectual, military, and terrorist dimensions, but stressed that these pressures have failed to weaken the country.
“We Are Your Adversary”
In his closing message to Trump, Ghalibaf warned against dangerous miscalculations and rejected what he described as false narratives promoted by hostile circles.
“Do not believe the lies you are told. Mashhad did not fall,” he said. “Iran’s defenders are present.”
Invoking the legacy of Martyr Haj Qassem Soleimani, Ghalibaf concluded:
“We, the nation of Iran, say the same thing that our dear Haj Qassem said: We are your adversary.
