Ghalibaf to Nabih Berri: Iran Will Stand Against Israel if Attacks on Lebanon Continue
Iranian Parliament Speaker Says Any Agreement to End the Iran-US War Must Include a Halt to Israeli Attacks on Lebanon
Iran, PUREWILAYAH.COM — Iranian Parliament Speaker and chief negotiator Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf warned that Iran will directly confront Israel if its attacks on Lebanon continue, emphasizing that any agreement aimed at ending the war between Iran and the United States must include a halt to aggression across all fronts, particularly Lebanon.
Ghalibaf made the remarks during a phone call with Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri amid escalating tensions surrounding Israeli threats against Lebanon and ongoing diplomatic efforts to secure a broader regional ceasefire.
“Iran and Lebanon Are One”
According to statements released by Iranian media, Ghalibaf praised the role of Hezbollah and the Amal Movement in confronting Israeli aggression and defending both Lebanon and the wider Islamic Ummah.
“Hezbollah and Amal today are defending both their homeland and the Islamic Ummah. For this reason, the bond between Iran and Lebanon is unbreakable, and your lives and our lives are one,” Ghalibaf said.
The Iranian official stressed that Tehran has been actively working over the past two days to stop Israeli attacks against Lebanon.
Iran Threatens to Halt Talks and Confront Israel
Ghalibaf warned that continued Israeli attacks would have direct consequences for ongoing diplomatic efforts.
“Over the past two days, we have seriously pursued the cessation of Israeli attacks, and if these crimes continue, we will not only stop the negotiations, but we will also stand against the Zionist regime,” he declared.
The statement comes shortly after Iran suspended indirect negotiations with Washington following Israeli threats against Beirut and continued attacks on Lebanese territory.
Iranian officials have repeatedly insisted that Lebanon is an inseparable component of any ceasefire arrangement and that Israeli violations against Lebanon cannot be separated from broader negotiations concerning the regional conflict.
Lebanon Must Be Included in Any Agreement
Ghalibaf further emphasized that any future agreement to end the war between Iran and the United States must include guarantees regarding Lebanon.
“If an agreement is reached to end the war between Iran and the United States, it will include the cessation of attacks on all fronts, especially Lebanon,” he said.
He also reaffirmed Tehran’s commitment to securing a comprehensive ceasefire throughout Lebanese territory.
“We are determined to establish a ceasefire across all of Lebanon, especially in the south of the country,” Ghalibaf added.
Berri Thanks Iran for Supporting Lebanon
For his part, Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri expressed appreciation for Iran’s efforts to halt Israeli attacks and support Lebanon during the current crisis.
“Lebanon will never forget Iran’s positive positions during this sensitive stage,” Berri said.
His remarks came amid growing coordination between Lebanese and Iranian officials as regional tensions continue to escalate and concerns mount over the possibility of renewed Israeli aggression against Lebanon.
