Gaza Resistance Warns Against Rumors on Abu Ubaida’s Fate
Security Emphasizes Official Sources Only Amid Sensitive Stage of Ceasefire and Prisoner Exchange
Palestine, PUREWILAYAH.COM - The security apparatus of the resistance in the Gaza Strip issued a statement on Thursday, confirming that it has monitored the circulation of rumors regarding the fate of Abu Ubaida, the spokesperson for the Al-Qassam Brigades — including claims of an imminent appearance or allegations of an impending announcement of his death.
The statement warned against spreading such rumors, stressing that they serve malicious security and psychological objectives that could harm the resistance during this critical phase. It called on everyone to refrain from engaging with unverified information.
Only Official Statements Represent the Resistance
The resistance security emphasized the necessity of adhering strictly to official positions issued by the resistance concerning Abu Ubaida’s status.
It firmly rejected any form of speculation or interpretation on this matter, stating that such behavior is unacceptable and potentially damaging.
Ongoing Conflict and Ceasefire Agreement
On October 9, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the Israeli occupation and the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, had reached an agreement on the first phase of a ceasefire and prisoner exchange plan, following indirect negotiations in Sharm El-Sheikh, with the participation of Turkey, Egypt, and Qatar under U.S. supervision.
Under the agreement, the Palestinian resistance will hand over the bodies of 28 captives, in exchange for the occupation releasing the bodies of Palestinians from Gaza who were martyred during the genocide.
By last Monday, Hamas had completed the release of 20 Israeli captives alive from Gaza, while Tel Aviv estimates that 28 captives remain deceased, four of whose bodies have already been delivered.
Since October 7, 2023, the occupation forces — backed by the United States and Europe — have carried out a genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, involving mass killing, starvation, destruction, displacement, and imprisonment, in defiance of international appeals and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt the atrocities.
The genocide has resulted in more than 238,000 Palestinians killed or wounded — the majority of them women and children — over 11,000 missing persons, hundreds of thousands displaced, famine claiming countless lives, particularly among children, and the near-erasure of entire cities and regions from the map.
