“The shutdown of the main generator at the Al-Rimal Centre threatens to deprive thousands of citizens of essential services,” Dr. Abu Afash explained. The centre serves as a critical hub for follow-up care for women, children, and the elderly. It is also a primary treatment point for patients suffering from chronic diseases and thalassemia, alongside vital premarital medical examinations.
The crisis extends far beyond the walls of the clinics. Mobile medical units operating among the displaced populations have reported a rampant spread of infectious and skin diseases. Conditions such as scabies, lice, and chickenpox are surging, particularly among young children living in overcrowded and unsanitary displacement camps.
