Gaza Announces General Amnesty for Gang Members "Not Involved in Bloodshed"
Authorities call on offenders to surrender within one week to restore public order and strengthen national unity after ceasefire
Palestine, PUREWILAYAH.COM - The Ministry of Interior and National Security in the Gaza Strip has announced a general amnesty initiative for individuals involved in criminal gangs, provided they are not implicated in acts of murder or bloodshed.
The decision comes in the wake of the ceasefire that halted Israel’s genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, marking the beginning of efforts to stabilize security and social conditions within the enclave.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the ministry confirmed that it has begun implementing measures aimed at restoring public order, reinforcing security, and preserving national and social cohesion.
Targeting Those Who Exploited Wartime Chaos
According to the ministry, certain criminal groups exploited the state of chaos during the war, carrying out acts that disrupted civil peace — including assaults on citizens’ property and looting humanitarian aid.
However, it clarified that among those who joined such gangs are individuals whose hands are not stained with blood and who did not participate in killings or severe crimes.
“In line with the values of justice and national responsibility, and out of concern for internal unity and the restoration of public order, the Ministry of Interior and National Security announces the opening of repentance and general amnesty to all who joined such gangs without involvement in murder,” the statement read.
One-Week Deadline to Surrender and Settle Legal Status
The ministry has called on eligible individuals to surrender to security authorities within one week — starting Monday, October 13, 2025, until Sunday, October 19, 2025 — in order to settle their legal and security status and permanently close their files.
At the same time, the ministry issued a stern warning to those who refuse to comply:
“Anyone who insists on defying the law will face firm legal measures. No violation of public security or citizens’ rights will be tolerated under any circumstance. A final warning has been given.”
As Gaza enters a post-war reconstruction and reconciliation phase, the initiative reflects an attempt by authorities to heal internal fractures, restore community trust, and reinforce the principles of justice and national solidarity. (PW)
